A mistake makes little sense. A place like Amazon gets it's product info from legitimate sources. I could believe a product description being duplicated from another release (happens a lot on Amazon), but this clearly ain't one of those times.
The repetition of the "3.1" title in the description, along with marketing blurbs that talk about it in more detail precludes it from being fake or a mistake. Now, Japan exclusive? Planned for this release but then pulled? Those would make sense and are possible.
But for the info to be completely wrong? No conceivable chance. This isn't some kind of rumor. It's from a legit source. Keep in mind that these boxed sets haven't been officially announced yet (Except for Japan, it seems), and the info we do have about the US/EU/CA versions of these boxed sets line up with that Japanese product description (same number of discs, same collection names). As far as these things go, it's prettymuch a lock.
I don't disagree anywhere here my friend, though I'm trying to maintain some healthy skepticism. Sony have repackaged this series a million times with no upgrades. SM3.1 is a bit too dream-come-true for me to get too excited at this point.
