Spider-man 3.1 finally?!

I don't disagree anywhere here my friend, though I'm trying to maintain some healthy skepticism. Sony have repackaged this series a million times with no upgrades. SM3.1 is a bit too dream-come-true for me to get too excited at this point.

Same.

Gonna have to pick up both of those.

Same.

Man, I hope this is true.

Well the hype train may be slowed by the fact that it seems pretty unlikely it will be coming out June 13, when the Digibooks come out in the USA.
I can see where it might be a real thing, but seems unlikely that it's really coming out in 41 days with no advance hype.

...on the other hand..........

Posted on another forum. The specs (such as they are) for the untitled SM1-3 set currently up for pre-order at Amazon USA. Note the combined run time 660 minutes

If you add up the run times for

Spider-Man-------121
Spider-Man 2-----127
Spider-Man 2.1---136
Spider-Man 3-----139.................and the claimed run time for
Spider-Man 3.1---137

-- you got it -- those add up to 660 minutes

Could mean nothing.

Possibly waiting for tomorrow (10th anniversary of the movie) to announce it?

Hopeful thinking.

An announcement could be lumped in with the anniversary. Seems like a logical time to grab the most exposure and capitolise on nostalgia.

This is Sony we're talking about here. This wait is agony, but I can't recall a recent Sony release that wasn't full of confusion, frustration and bracing for the worst.

[EDIT] I managed to contact Sony and actually got a reply. Nothing useful, sadly.

Thank you for your interest in Sony Pictures Home Entertainment products.

Currently we do not have any information regarding your concern.

I'm getting TOO EXCITED! Hopefully we aren't all let down...

Do you want to lose customers? Because this crap right here is how you lose customers.

I hope we get an announcement about this tomorrow. If they don't really release anything by then, is it safe to assume that SM 3.1 will still sadly remain a dream?

Hopefully those films still have their special features. Absolutely annoyed that my blu-rays of 1&2 just come with the respective films and that's it. :argh:

It could just be the SM3 bonus disc. it always came with 2 discs.

Yep. Even the collector's edition Blu-Ray trilogy release came with 1 disc for each of the first 2 films and 2 for the third. Although I have the original collector's edition DVD of the first film which came with 2 discs.

Somehow missed out on this news. Wow. It's almost too good to believe. It's been so long, I just thought this was never going to happen. I thought Sony was done with this franchise. If this is true, the hype is very real.

It's looking a lot less real every day. At least as part of any June 13 release.

The silence is deflating. Doesn't feel like anything will happen.

Another not-so-substantial update: Amazon UK has listed the 5 film complete boxset for preorder. £79.99.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XWSZ...TF8&qid=1494101658&sr=1-3&keywords=spider-man

No mention of the extras, but it is 7 discs, and you'd expect something new considering the pre-order sits next to last year's release which currently sells for £12.99.

Welp, if there's no 3.1., no sense getting the films again.

The lack of official announcement from Sony is the biggest worry. They did a big official announcement for Spider-Man 2.1 long before they released it. The movie even got a brand new cover and all, which I really like;

I won't be shocked if it doesn't come out.

I will be infuriated, however. Those crap-ass ASM movies had tons of cut footage released, and there's no fixing those movies.

Even those we never got to see quite a bit though. None of the MJ scenes were included and neither were the alternate Gwen deaths and Spidey/Goblin fight.

I'll probably still buy these since I never upgraded from DVD to Blu-Ray but I'll be very disappointed with no 3.1. :csad:
