Sequels Spider-Man 4 in 2010?

I've said it before but the wachowski bros would be perfect for directing a spidey flick but I'm not sure about them writing, although chances are, they could probably write a better script than anyone else who's written a spidey screenplay for the past 3 flicks.

Oh God, no. Please keep the Wachowski siblings as far away from Spider-Man as possible.

Why, I don't think Sam Raimi has ever directed a movie more comic book-like with a flair of action/Sci-Fi/comedy/drama, that's better than The Matrix? They seem to understand the basic fundamental elements of the comic book world, better than most directors working today. I'm sure that The Matrix movie even wowed Raimi himself.

Theres defenitley no doubt that they are coming back and quite frankly I'm really happy they are!.
Your foolish to think that. Theres a much bigger chance of them leaving than any of them returning.

Pirates 4 AND Shrek 4? Oh God, when will people learn to leave a good thing alone? Does everybody have to milk a franchise until there's nothing left?

*looks at Die Hard 4, Rocky 6, Rambo 4, Indiana Jones 4, James Bond 23*

Nevermind. I'm currently waiting for Smokey and the Bandit Part Four.:ninja:

I hope it's NOT true, I'm hoping for a 2011 Spider-Man 4 release date. I can't go through another May with Pirate 4, Shrek 4 and Spidey 4. Tell me that these movie studios are not this f---ing dumb. These three films should avoid each other by at least 6 months to a year apart.
I;ve known about Shrek 4, but POTC 4 where'd that come from!?POTC should end the sequels haven't even been as good as COBP.

Another Shrek?I thought they did all they could with that franchise.
There's also a Puss in Boots DVD movie.

so, if NOT Raimi, than WHO should direct "SPIDER-MAN 4"??? I still would wanna see James Cameron direct a spidey flick... but who would you like to see?
Steven....Speilberg.

Check out the beond report for bond 23 coming out in 2010, they're also saying that sm4 may POSSIBLY come out in 2010 also. To me, that sounds like the earliest sm4 will come out is 2010, so there's still a good chance it may come out later. However, what that also means is, you TMags and Dunst fans can kiss both of them god by because they're not coming back. TMags especially, will be too old....yes!!!!

If it comes out in 2010, they'll start filming in two years...how is he going to be "too old". Hell, he still looks like he's 19.

Why would you think that because seriously i see it the other way around and don't call my friend FOOLISH....
Thanks Man. I mean there is a great chance that Sam, Tobey, Kirsten, will return for Spidey4. Sony is defenitley going to want them to as well because of not only the amount that Spidey3 has made but the amount the whole franchise has made so far!

Agreed. He looks young, which is really a great thing IMO. Which is one of the reasons I think He should continue playing Peter Parker/Spider-man in Spidey4.

TMAgs looks nothing like a 19 year old and even if they start filming in 2 years, that'll make him 34, which is still too old to be playing spider-man. TMags is starting to show his age and if the studio were smart, they'd go for a recast now. Audiences don't go to see these movies because of the actors, hey go to see spider-man do his thing. If the studio were so willing to bring in Jake G for sm2, I don't see why it shold even be a remote problem to recast for a new trilogy.

Oh God, no. Please keep the Wachowski siblings as far away from Spider-Man as possible.

Why, the matrix was a far superior movie to all 3 spidey movies combined. As fo the matrix sequals, the only thing that flopped it, was its unecessary elementary story disguised to be rather complex, which flew over the heads of most audiences. Saying that, all 3 matrix movies wree beautifully directed and crafted and felt more like a comicbook movie moreso than any other supposed comic book movie.

Whereas the wachowskis had to come up with their own ideas and whatnot for the matrix, that wouldn't be the case for spider-man. I'm sure they know about spider-man all too well and I'm willing to bet that they could do a much more superior job than Raimi could ever hope to do.

Tobey is a young looking guy, plus there is make-up. He can easily look like Parker for one more (not 3). It won't be like what Roger Moore looked like in A View To a Kill.

Man looked more than young enough to me in SM3, and two years shouldn't change much.

Sam, Tobey, and Kirsten hopefully have one more in them

Oh wow you totally counter attacked my statment :whatever: :o

Hmm lets see, Kirstin is bored with the franchise, and would like to leave. Tobey is like on the middle ground here. And Raimi would like to come back only if he feels up to it and if there isnt any other projects. There an all or nothing deal, they either all come back or its a recast.

Sony and the producers have stated many times that they would certainly like all 3 back but if they dont, there not gonna cry a freakin river about it.

You're right they are an all or nothing deal.

I just hope the deal is made

excuse me? Indy 4?

They've not filmed an original Indy film (put Young Indy out of your mind) in like 20 years!

Here's a bit of info... Speilberg signed up to do an Indy 4, 5 and 6

I would love to see more Indy films... however 5 and 6 seems a bit overkill.... hopefully they won't kill it off before they finish.

Exactly. Tobey really does look young for His age. I noticed in Spidey3 that He didn't like like a 31 year old at all. I'm very happy about that to because He is such a great Peter Parker. And to be honest, I don't see why anybody would dislike Tobeys portrayal as Peter Parker/Spider-man:up::spidey:.

I am praying they'll all be gone... keep Raimi as producer... I stated my reasons... let me state them one more time (probably not the last time though)... this trio is by no means doing another trilogy... okay had to state the obvious... now for some more obvious and not so obvious reasons:

1) Younger cast + new director = lower budget... can lock em up for a three picture deal (obvious)

2) Time for a new take... keep it interesting. New direction (obvious)

3) MJ/Pete recasted but keep almost everyone else... with Baker and Simmons and maybe even Bryce coming back... it would be a smooth transition. Audiences will still except the movies as direct sequels as long as the continuity is there... it by no means guarantees a Schumacher out of SM4just because of a couple of recasts. If Baker and Bryce are still game... audience will want to stay tuned because these are unfinished character arcs... it doesn't matter if its someone other than Tobey is making out with Gwen in SM4... they barely had screen time together in SM3... there wasn't enough time to build any chemistry between those two... so a "REAL" love triangle (not the five minute cheezy dancing scenes we got in SM3) can still be developed with a new guy playing Parker. This first trilogy closed the books on Franco, Dunst, and Maguire... lets get a new "Big Three" and get something fresh. (Not so obvious)

4) MJ and Peter are not wrapping up their tale/journey in one more flick... the story is all about a girl remember... and Sony wants 6 movies am I right? They aren't going to make Peter and MJ live happily ever after at the end of SM4... what does that mean? THEY ARE NOT GETTING MARRIED... take it to the bank... argue with me if you will... it is not happening so don't try and convince me... MJ rejected Peter the first time in the comics when he proposed (and Peter didn't propose in SM3 remeber??? He wasn't ready... well MJ won't be ready either by the end of SM4 when Parker pops the question. Something will get in between them in the next one... because hey... "If someone told you this was a happy little tale... somebody lied..." And there is no point bringing these kids a fourth time a round if you are gonna wrap their story up in movie six with new actors anyway... Sony wants six movies... not four... do the math. Save some money (Not so obvious but actually pretty obvious if thought about it a little).

5) Lizard and Kraven... heck Lizard and Electro... or even Vulture Lizard for the classic fans... Heck Lizard and Black Cat AND Carnage... well then it just starts to become nonsense... point is... Lizard by himself... Lizard with Kraven, or Lizard + X are not suitable antagonists for Parker to deal with for a grand finale... you want to disagree that's fine... we'll agree to disagree... as much as most of us love Kraven and Lizard for the next one... you can't try to sell me Kraven as some grand master unstoppable force for Spiderman to deal with... neither is a reptile on two legs... hence... if you go with those two guys... you are automatically scaling down from what you had in SM3... so with expectations all ready lowered from a general audience stand point... they'll accept a recast... there are only a select few villains that can hold their own for a series finale come SM6. Hop Goblin or a Sinister Six (not even gonna mention Carnage since most of us have a half functioning brain... not so obvious)

Audiences don't go to see these movies because of the actors, hey go to see spider-man do his thing.

Quoted for truth.

Losing Tobey is a blow, but nobody cares about Kirsten outside of consistency loving fanboys, and if a fourth movie with a new cast is kickass, it won't take long for people to forget all about it.

Since when is marriage the "happily ever after" ending to any relationship? In both real life and the comics, marriage doesn't "wrap up" a love story, it brings it to a higher level.

I think the last thing we need is a mid life crisis with MJ seeing a psychiatrist and convincing Parker to attend marriage counseling with her in Spiderman movies... and DEFITNITELY no kid baby...

Yeah...I'm pretty sure there's more to be said about getting married than counseling and children.

They should have signed Tobey for one more film before part 3 was even started. That way they could have spread out that storyline over 2 films. Forget it now. What are they gonna do sign up Tobey for a one shot deal meaning they'll have to make another closed ended storyline? You can't have a cliffhanger or start a new storyline and switch actors right in the middle. They either need to sign Tobey up for 2 more films or just recast now.

Venom wouldn't have held SM4 by himself... you saw how cheezy that stuff was in SM3... I am glad we only got ten minutes of it.. hence you would have needed Shocker or Rhino in there... maybe King Pin... like they did in TAS... and obviously Lizard does not fit a Venom Story so he couldn't be in SM4 with Venom. Point is... you would need another branching storyline from SM4... and that doesn't mean ONLY a Lizard cliff hanger... you would need another major villain in SM4 that would have a role in later films... hence with other branching plots... you wouldn't have Tobey finishing up all the remaining arcs... so you might as well recast now.
