So what are your goals and long-term plans Walter? The parade is in 6 months. I would think THIS year is the year to get the balloon up, what with the Spidey movie breaking records and a new cartoon due out in September...

How many sigs are you looking for, and when (and to whom) do you plan to turn the petition in?

At this point, I'm running on a "sky's the limit" motif here, Cap. I have to try and make up for the Internet bots and troublemakers who've eaten up a few spaces on my campaign. As for who I'm turning this in to, I'm planning on delivering it to the higher-ups at Marvel and Macy's and I hope to try and do it sometime this summer.

Until then, I still welcome any and all supporters who want to chime in.

I'd just like to know, why was the Spider-man balloon taken out of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade to begin with? If anything, Spidey hasd outlasted 99.9% of the trend floats and balloons they've had in those parades for the last gazillion years it's been taking place.

It has to do with Marvel's bankruptcy period. Put simply, it was the "suits" who did the balloon in, thereby robbing the parade of a popular staple.

There was a fatality with the Spidey float a few years back...it was a very windy Thanksgiving day, and the guys who control the float lost control of it.

It fell and injured several people, and ended up killing one of them.

That's why i seriously doubt we'll get the balloon back any time soon.
