The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man in the Avengers?

I haven't heard anything else about it since October. Most users I spoke with weren't impressed with the idea...Frank Castle as a cop by day, Punisher by night. Yeah, the whole reason he's the Punisher at all is because he can't be a cop.

"The law is inadequate."

Even if it sees the light of TV day, I doubt it will last. People will see it as a Dexter ripoff.

Well....there needs to be a Punisher TV series from someone that actually knows what they're doing, lol.

From "A trusted source" apparently:

There’s been plenty of debate whether ‘The Amazing Spider-Man‘ will be popping up for a quick cameo in the upcoming ‘Avengers’ movie, and our trusted sources are insisting that it will happen. “This will be similar to how Wolverine made a quick cameo in X-Men: First Class and Sony’s going to make sure to promote their new Spider-man movie any way they can. Andrew’s (Garfield) isn’t a widely known actor so they want to get his face on everything, including The Avengers even if it’s for a couple seconds

Part of me doesn't want this to happen because I like Spidey by himself...but another part of me does because seeing Spidey as a cameo would be cool.

I'm not sure what I want...

I have no problem with a cameo/mention of Spidey as long as future Spider-Man sequels don't turn into an Avengers/SHIELD movie halfway through.

Have him mentioned by Iron Man or something or have him cameo to acknowledge that Spidey's not the only hero in the world.

That's it.

I want like a press conference announcing the avengers and Parker there taking photos maybe a few lines....But i really dont see it happening.

I wouldn't otherwise believe it, but since it's from bestmoviesevernews.com I think it has to be true.

I'm still unsure, but as said - business politics can make it happen if both see they can mutually succeed. I was fast to say Nick Fury wasn't going to happen, not gonna do the same here. As said, it could help both of them especially with this summer's highly competitive atmosphere.

I can go along with a small cameo but I'd prefer Spidey to be solo.

Yeah, exactly my thought.

I really hope we don't see any ties to The Avengers with TASM. I would like to see Marc take this in his own direction, or more like the Ultimate. I will be very disappointed if Peter's parents were SHIELD agents, it would just take away from the Spidey universe I want to see.

Personally, I don't care to see Spider-Man in the Avengers films. That's just contrary to the character's nature as an "everyman". He's just working-class hero, not a world-class legend that everyone wants on their team.

Some of you in here saying you know it won't happen may be in for a rude awakening. I won't be surprised if he makes a cameo and I won't be surprised if he doesn't. Some of you don't realize that Sony Pictures is in the dumpster and they need money. Avengers comes out 2 months before Spidey. They aren't direct competitors. What better way get free advertising than with a cameo? Secondly, Sony Pictures may close shop and sell off their franchises and this may be a step towards that. Time will tell but it will be hilarious seeing all these shocked posts in here come May. Remember...we also heard rumors of Colson being in TAS. Now with rumors of Spidey being in Avengers means this may be true...these are all from different sources.

It happened in the comics. You forget that Spidey also wanted to be part of the F4 early on.
