Back in 2003 there was a little 13 episode series that ran on MTV called Spider-Man and it was somewhat of a continuation from the first movie.

Does anyone know if it was popular or got good ratings? 'cause i enjoyed it, own it, and wouldn't mind seeing a second season. It ended on such a sad note: Peter throwing his Spidey suit into the Hudson.

The animation was quite different from most everything else out there but the stories were pretty good and they had a good cast of voice work. I liked it and was pissed that it all ended on such a sad note.

I liked Spider-Man's animation, but wasn't too keen on anything else about the show.

agreed. and according to Wikipedia:

"As a side note, it is rumored that the second season is under production, although it is not certain whether a network will pick it up."

there's hope...

I thought the stories were similar to the Ultimate Spiderman comics and I love those.

I liked it, better then most cartoons on. Spider-man was handled decently, and i liked the new take on things...mostly. Hated the Kingpin, UGH.
Didn't he have a burger or something on his limo attena? ugh.

Good cast, decent action...didn't like the animation. Looked too neo-cubist.

my favorite part of the series was whenever spider-man was on scene...i thought they captured his webslinging and movements masterfully. I still get goosebumps...cause i'm a massive spidey nerd.

The web swinging n Spidey movement were very good, but the villains were kinda of crappy n some stories looked like they were from Ultimate but they were so bad!
Also I agree,the cliffhanger sucked!

The 2 Part Finale of this Show was one of the Best Finale's out there

yeah...i thought it was really good too....but sad, and desparately needing another season to address it and bring spidey back...IMO

Watched it. Hated it. Most of the characters were nothing like their comic book counterparts. The show sucked.

I watched a couple episodes and liked what they did with it, but MTV set the show up to fail, on Friday's at like 9 or 10 and the one show that wasn't repeated 50 times during the week. This should've been on cartoon network.

I caught it once....didn't care for it. There was some ninja villian

I saw it. Liked it too. Mainframe did a great job on the animation. The problem is that the show was/is severly hampered by Sam Raimi's licensing of all Spidey's good villians. They couldn't do Green Goblin as he was dead. And all the rest of the good villians Raimi had first dibs on. That's why season 1 only had Kraven, Electro, Kingpin, and maybe the lizard.

I watched one epidoe and was far from impressed. Maybe if it was crappy computer animation it would have been good.

Eh. I disliked it greatly. Had its moments but..eh

I liked it enough to buy the series when it came on dvd.

I loved how it was 3D to look like 2D. You have to ask "What's the point?" but it's used to great stylistic effect!!

I actually liked it. Of course, I only saw about 2 or 3 episodes. Would have been great if they could actually used some of Spidey's more famous villians.

The Venom story would have looked amazing on that show.
