The part where Spidey hurls two pucks at goons, which immediately connect to each other by webbing and pull the goons, crashing them together was lit. I wanna see that in a movie.

I feel like most games are going to try and steer clear of October--especially an open-world action game like Spider-Man.

Oct 18 is a Thurs and games are released typically on Tues or Fri. Your point is valid though as sandwiched between CoD and Red Dead is not a wise decision

I'm thinking June or July release is reasonable for this now, either way we'll know tomorrow. God of War was February for GameInformer, that game is out this month. This is technically May's issue, right? Then it's out June or July!

I love the moment with the classic suit, it's a movement we can do in Spider-Man 2, seeing this return along with the coming of crashing a thug through a car is such a sweet deal.

That comment about stratospheric expectations is one of the most apt descriptions. I wonder if they managed to include pole swing, that is a mechanic that went missing after Web of Shadows.

That new gameplay looks great but the web-swinging looks a bit floaty. I'm not sure if that is the right way to describe but it could look better.

It just looks like the swinging has no weight to it. Of course it is hard to say without playing the game.

I hope the costume from Sam Raimi movies will be one of the alternative costumes. Would be great to see it with the current graphic. I have always liked the back spider symbol.

I'd like to see that suit as well, I'm sure there wouldn't be any issues for movie suits showing up since it's Sony. The main suit already borrows the adjusting eye lenses from the MCU movies, I think the MCU Spidey suit is likely at least. In the first Amazing Spider-Man game they had the Raimi trilogy suit and the SM3 black suit as alternates which was nice.

I'm doubtful of a release that soon but with the upcoming promotions, June or July is definitely a possibility. And the less I have to wait the better. I'm so ready for this...Spidey has waited long enough for his AAA title.

Edit: In both the Web swinging and the combat, I'm seeing some Beenox inspired animations.

I think the game could come out any time and sale great has people love Spider-Man and are hungry for a Spider-Man game and a good one at that but I think we are going to get earlier then I thought now with this news I see it being a june/july game and before I thought it was going to be October. I am so excited off work tomorrow cant wait to see the release date hopefully when I get up in the moring we will have that news!

But as said by Havok: Disney will never let that happen. They won't risk it--it's only their first triple A game in what they hope to be a massive trend. They won't risk that with game one.

I'm betting on an open-world demo at E3. Something that shows the traversal and the city in all its glory. Maybe some side quests and a new villain reveal. With a release date of Fall 2018 at the end.

Sony is the publisher for this game plus gaming is Sony's turf, Disney understands that Sony knows what they're doing. I think signs are pointed to a summer release. Either early or mid but not late, I would say. By that I mean July, maybe June.

edit: not only that but there's also more competition in Q3 and Q4. That's one reason why a lot of Sony's exclusives - Bloodborne, Order 1886, Uc4, Horizon, Detroit, even Yakuza all released in the first half of their respective years. Spiderman releasing in the first half of the year isn't unfathomable
