Spider-Man (PS4) - Part 2

With how Sony has been marketing their exclusives lately...especially God of War 4...I honestly think they're going to announce the release date at E3 BUT, they're going to pull a Cloverfield Paradox marketing strategy.

There is so much hype for this game...they don't really need to advertise it in my opinion. The only thing people really want is a release date. I think the release date will be a week or two after E3. I'm thinking that June rumor could potentially pan out to be true.

Imagine how crazy that would be to reveal at the conference. Sony could potentially be stock piling at the moment.

Its not their IP. I dont think Disney is gong to allow them to be so risky with releasing this with little notice and minimum promotion. KI really dont think the hype on this is that massive. They've been fairly quiet. People want more than just a release date. Gameplay, character reveals, more story elements....there's alot of stuff thats typically revealed in a preview cycle that this game simply hasnt done

But yeah, Insomniac retweeted something about E3 a week ago or so, so I feel like Spidey will be there...again. Early 2018 is off the table.

I read on the Spider-Man PS4 subreddit that GameInformer releases their new cover tomorrow, I doubt it'll be anything good but it'd be a nice surprise if it was Spider-Man with big new info.

Gameplay has improved so much from E3 that they won't be releasing the extended footage now since it doesn't represent the game properly.

I'm personally hoping for Spider-Man or Red Dead Redemption II. The article writer said on twitter that he was so nervous and excited that he couldn't sleep. Has to be something big. Also Spider-Man is currently the only triple A PS4 exclusive that comes out this year without a release date. So if it's Spider-Man, I hope we get a release date accompanying it, hoping for June personally.

Well, there we go. What a nice surprise! The wraparound Alex Ross cover is stunning, hope we see it in higher res without the text soon.

Those new gameplay bits looked so charged with energy, also only said it was from the alpha build too. Those animations when Spider-Man's swinging, when he twists during a swing, or when he was swinging around a corner the weight looked great. Rain, too.

Tomorrow we'll know the release date, that's exciting.

Edit: Another nice detail I noticed in the last clip of him swinging is how there are big puddles on the streets, and the rooftops look damp. Assuming this is an environmental effect after rain comes through. Little, but things like that add to a world like this to help it feel real and lived in.

Amazing. I cannot wait to play this. Swinging looks fantastic. I hope that both the mechanics for traversal and combat are deep, challenging and rewarding. I'm still thinking an October release but sooner is always good
