Playstation Spider-Man (PS4) - Part 3

I only glanced at it, but I think it was around 4GB.

Oh ok just wondering thinks I know it adds new game + and photo mode not sure what other changes there are. So game is back at a 87 now so its been like jumping from 88-87 so that is most likely what it is going to finish at. It would be hard for it to get up to a 89 at this point with how many reviews its at I think it would need like several 10/10 in a row to do that and its running out of reviews. I known I known I am obessing about it just trying to find something to think about before the game comes out lol. I do have NFL starting tomorrow I cant wait for that.

I wonder like how many gadgets the game will have and what it will have besides the few we saw like the trip wire thing I am sure we are going to have some really good ones.

I know you're all excited about the gameplay, but it's the praise for the story and characters that really excites me. The game mechanics can be outstanding, but without a good story, I get bored really quickly.

Store is nice but when it comes to video games I think it goes like this more most important.

1. Gameplay
2. Music
3. Graphics
4. Story.

Well, I'm not much of a gamer, so story is key to keeping me invested. I'll do Batman, Spider-Man and a few other superhero games, but have absolutely no interest in anything else.

Good stories managed to help me get through a number of sh***y games.

If the gameplay is bad, I cannot bring myself to play through a game no matter how good the story is. I would rather it be fun and replayable rather than the story be good with bad gameplay. Because after it is over, I won't ever want to play it again just to experience a "good story". Might as well just watch a Youtube playthrough and save money.

I think in terms of perfected gameplay in superhero games, no game comes close to Arkham Knight. The mechanics in that work so well and I never have an issue with it really. There have been tons of good and amazing superhero games, but I just think in terms of the gameplay itself Arkham Knight perfected the formula that was basically perfect already.

See, Arkham Knight's gameplay couldn't get me to finish the game. The story was so lackluster and I was so sick of Joker, that I honestly didn't give a damn.

I will admit certain areas of the story weren't as strong as they should have been. But other parts were amazingly well done. I would change a few things about the game for sure. But I still adore it and I still play it regularly. It helps you feel like Batman a lot to me.

This is making me wish I had a PS4. If this game can combine the pure fun that the ps1 Activision game had, with the kind of ground breaking open world exploration the SM2 game had, it will be amazing.

Really? I don't know, gameplay as Batman himself is damn near flawless to me. I love the whole combo rating/counter system, mixing in gadgets as well really sell the idea you're Batman really well.

The only two problems I had with Arkham Knight was the Knight himself, and too much batmobile.

But we're getting OT now. I'm happy to see they'll be adding a new game plus on day one, rather than implementing it 4-6 months later, like Ubisoft. New game plus for games such as these should be mandatory.

I wasn't saying the gameplay wasn't good. But no matter how good it was, it wasn't enough to make me sit through the game's lackluster story.

Oh I see I love video game but the batman games are some of my favorite ones.

Yeah I agree with this and yes Arkham knight game play was amazing.

See to me Arkham knight had the best story in the franchise and I had zero problem with the joker because when it comes down to it the Arkham trilogy was about the relationship between Joker and batman. Now origins I hated joker being in that game because it felt more forced than the other games and I could tell early on something was off with black mask in origins so I wasn't really surprised that he was really joker.

I also couldn't finish Arkham Knight due to being totally not engaged with the story or some of the gameplay mechanics. As soon as I heard Paul Dini wasn't writing that game I had doubts about the story, and the stories of Arkham Asylum and Arkham Knight were a big reason those games work. There's authenticity to the characters that really rings true from being overseen by a guy who absolutely gets Batman. Arkham Knight to me is a prime example of less is more, because I'd take Asylum or City's more focused stories and gameplay every day over tank battles.

The story was one of the things I've been most looking forward to for this game as I've been hoping for a story that nails what Peter is about and puts you in those shoes, thankfully it's looking like they did just that.

I never was a fan of mechanics in games like Web of Shadows where they give you the choice to do the things Spider-Man wouldn't do, like ripping guys in half, or cheating on his wife. To me that's not a good marriage of gameplay and license.

So one of the patches that the game just received added a new suit to the game (no, not one of the ones that everyone's been asking for), which puts the suit count in the base game at 28 now. Makes me wonder if the actual day one patch will add more suits as well.

Here's the image, no spoilers apart from the suit.

There is a costume of Spider-man with nothing on but his tighty whities and his mask. Can't wait to use that as my main.

I thought the story of Arkham Knight was terrible.

I much preferred Jason Todd being fundamentally opposed to Batman's no killing policy, and being his own man and not Scarecrow's lacky.

Batman is an idiot who thought Jason died without proof (like a body) and took Joker's tape at face value. Not my Batman.

Batman never actually figures out Knight was Jason (so much for being the World's Greatest Detective) and the reveal happens in an anti-climatic way after such a big build up.

Barbra and Tim Drake are dating... ugh.

I hope if this Spider-Man Insomniac franchise makes it to a third game they do a better job ending the trilogy, from a narrative perspective.

Count me in as someone who thought Arkham Knight's story was weak, and one reason why I think its the weakest of the Arkham games, though still a very good game. I like superhero games that can engage both in gameplay and story, which the other Arkham games did. This game looks like its got both, too.

So why do some of you want skins tagged in spoilers? I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just curious, none of them really spoil anything.

Some people want to be surprised by the alternate suit selection, it's a little thing but it makes some people happy and it takes zero effort for me to spoiler tag an image so I see no reason to not spoiler tag them.

agreed. Speaking of, i felt like the batmobile combat was tedious in arkham knight. Awesome game, but the weakest of the trilogy.

Btw, my gamestop is having a 9pm release tommorow night. I cant wait!

bc people want to be surpised by whats in there and how they look

That suit that was like just posted I thought was already in the game before a patch I thought it was shown in a video like a day or 2 ago.

If you're talking about the one I posted, no, it was only recently seen, and was not one of the 27 suits that we'd seen so far. It was added with one of the recent patches and bumped the base game suit count up to 28.
