Playstation Spider-Man (PS4) - Part 3

Makes me wonder how MARVEL is gonna handle other character games. I have all 3 Systems so Im currently enjoying this game & I get it this is Sony exclusive as part of the movie deal & I do wonder what happens if Sony takes Spider-Man from MARVEL after Far From Home is done. But these characters are beyond iconic & keeping them all just on one system would be wrong here

The game being a PS4 exclusive has nothing to do with the movies. Insomniac had the freedom to choose what character to work on. Also Marvel has a partnership with Square Enix, whose games will most likely be multiplat starting with Avengers.

I dunno if any of you have seen the metacritic user scores. Its high but the number of negatives are quite alarming tbh. Dunno if its fanboys or genuine criticsms

Well, what do the criticisms say? If it's that the wall crawling is ****, I'll have to agree.

My skill tree is locked for some reason and I've been playing a while now. it says I have enough currency to buy upgrades but the game just doesn't let me. Does someone know the explanation?

Most of what i'm seeing is guys claiming it's the same old same old, and that they're tired of spiderman games. I don't think most of them have played it honestly. Also the game currently has x2 more negative user reviews than injustice 2 and arkham knight

whatever the reason, the fact that Sony snagged the exclusive rights to this Spidey franchise is a huge win for Sony and Playstation.

this looks to be the Arkham game for Spidey and will most likely spawn a franchise of sequels - all of which will most likely be exclusive to Sony/PS.

I dunno about you guys but i think it would be cool if we get to see Morlun's family (The Inheritors) somewhere down the line in the franchise.

Honestly, this just comes across as pure pettiness. Yes, the game does repeat a lot of things that past free-roam Spider-Man games did, but there are only so many ways you can make a free-roam Spider-Man game. Insomniac took what came before, polished and perfected it. (With the exception of that goddamn wall-crawling) They also added a whole new layer with the web gadgets, that no other Spider-Man game did before. So it's not like there's nothing new. And the game looks spectacular with a Movie like presentation. It's so good, I'd say this is the definite Spider-Man, and the MCU should take some notes.

I hope Insomniac gets to make other Marvel character games. I want a Thor game, GOTG game, Dr. Strange and others. Create a Marvel Game Universe.

I admit, one reason why I hesitated and preordered so late was because I did have the general feeling that this looked like "more of the same" as past free-roaming Spidey games.

That would be awesome. I'd love a Captain Marvel space adventure game.

Yeah, but the difference is you didn't post negative reviews/ratings of a game you haven't played due to that feeling.

Unless you did. :p

just imagine if they do that, and all those games ( and thus the Marvel Game Universe ) were exclusive to Sony/Playstation! that would be huge!!

I just learned that the guy who plays Norman Osborn is Mark Rolston, who played Drake in Aliens and Boggs in Shawshank Redemption. I always like when character actors turn up in games.

Anyone calling this a bad game is just trolling. There's no denying that this is the best Spider-Man game we've ever seen. Spider-Man for PS1 was great in terms of gameplay and characters but the web swinging left much to be desired due to the limitations of the system at the time. Spider-Man 2 for Ps2/Xbox/Gamecube was innovative in its open world gameplay and improved web swinging, but it was also limited by sticking to the film's plot and some straight up atrocious voice acting (I think Tobey Maguire was given Valium before recording his lines for that one. :o). Still, it was the best superhero game at the time of its release and it's a fun nostalgia trip to go back to. But this new Spider-Man game blows them out of the water. This already stands up there with Arkham Asylum and Arkham City as one of the best superhero games of all time.

Back after a binge tonight, firstly, my lawd, how fast are some of you guys finishing it (main story) !!! I'm sampling bits of everything (so far, the first 'boring bit' has been the Harry 'Environmental' side missions, yawnsville).

Am up to first 'boss battle' in the bank with Shocker and proving a real tough one to get around (sure you guys found it easy enough but am factoring in my inability to string combo's and correct button sequences together).

Can anyone tell me how you distinguish a completed sequence on the radio wave towers on the map from ones you haven't completed (or is it a case of the ones you haven't done won't show up yet ?)

Also unlocks - for skills etc, seem to be a case of unlockable but you can only ever have a certain amount of them at any one time, which is a bit frustrating but I can get round that if that's the case.

Unlockable Side missions are a bit weird thus far (chasing pigeons - WTF !)

Overall though, a beautiful looking and a beautiful to play game.

This is a technical difficulty, you should contact Insomniac to help you with that. Did you get the update patch that I think is supposed to fix such issues?

This. I'm just glad we finally have a Marvel game that goes up against DC's best. Hopefully, the upcoming Avengers game is just as good.

If we're lucky, Square Enix won't fall under the mistake of making this like Mindjack.

One of the first things I did was descramble all the city antennas and collect all the backpacks. Not exactly thrilling, but I liked the little trinkets and Peter giving info about each one.

I've had one glitch. In the auction house one of the goons got stuck behind a wall and I couldn't finish the fight. Had to reload the last checkpoint. Other than that tho it's been a really smooth and polished experience. I'm not very good with the combat system. I can't get into a rhythm, but hopefully I'll improve.

nice! many thanks, man! that will help!

also, is there any way to listen to the soundtrack in the game? cuz I'm really digging Spidey's theme.

Some people have rips uploaded on YouTube I'm sure. The official release is supposed to be towards the end of the month I saw. Digital and a record.

It is John Paesano, who scores Daredevil on Netflix which is basically my fave show. Lots of similarities, so you can maybe listen to some of that in your car or on your headphones for now etc. His releases are kind of barebones though. 15 tracks roughly for both seasons, maybe 40 mins each. I would have liked a couple hours out of each, but hopefully someday an extended score will be out.
Both his Daredevil scores came months after premiere which was annoying. He did Defenders and thankfully that was up on day 1. I just hope this is a lot of music because the game has a ton of it.

How many antenna's are there across all areas please, just so I know how many I have got to go on that part ? Thanks.
