I'll watch the video later, but if you go back and play SM2, it might not be as good as you remember in my opinion.

I agree with this evaluation. It's not great, but those Amazing Spider-Man 1&2 games made sure I appreciate that old game more.Spider-Man 2 was great at the time, and it's still a fun game to play. But it hasn't aged too well.
I'm not even trying to hate on Spider-Man 2 or anything. I think that when it was first released, it was one of the best superhero games ever made, especially one based on a movie. I would still go back and play it again at some point for the sake of nostalgia, but it definitely looks and feels like a PS2 game from 2004.I agree with this evaluation. I know buddy, the "It's still fun" is part of why I agree with your assessment of the game.I'm not even trying to hate on Spider-Man 2 or anything.
I think I played the game last about 3-4 years ago and it was a lot of fun. I would love to see a remastered version of it at some point with enhanced graphics and such. Similar to what has been done for Crash and Spyro.I know buddy, the "It's still fun" is part of why I agree with your assessment of the game.
Since it carries the name Activision, updating it will ne'er happen.I think I played the game last about 3-4 years ago and it was a lot of fun. I would love to see a remastered version of it at some point with enhanced graphics and such. Similar to what has been done for Crash and Spyro.
I thought EoT was overrated and actually quite fun. The best SM game is by far the PS4 one but the next 3 (more favorites) would beI'm not even trying to hate on Spider-Man 2 or anything. The best games after SM2 in my opinion:
Ultimate Spider-Man
Web of Shadows
Shattered Dimensions
Edge of Time was very generic and forgettable. And don't get me started on the TASM games.
Spider-Man (PS4) is absolutely amazing and is my favorite superhero game of all time at the moment.
Dont say never as there was a time people said the Crash games back on PS would never happen. Its unlikely to happen however as long as Sony holds the Spider-Man license. There's 3 seperate companies in the mix. Activision is the odd man out. Given what Insomniac just did, I dont think a SM2 remaster/remake would do too well and it would be setting itself up for failure. IMO, it would be a wise financial investmentSince it carries the name Activision, updating it will ne'er happen.
I’ve been on vacation for the past week and finally back home I was able to pick up where I left off with Spider-Man. I’m now at around 70%-ish completion and just passed the part…
where you fight Li on the subway. Despite not enjoying the MJ stuff so far in this game, during this mission where you control both MJ and Spider-Man in the museum was an absolute joy. While MJ’s game mechanics are certainly lacking her part in this story was used greatly during this scene. Yeah, Spidey could have just taken them all out using stealth on his own like in other moments of the game but still this was a nice inclusion of MJ into the gameplay. The tension during the scene was well played and it was a great moment when you have to disarm that bomb. Really good stuff. The actual boss fight with Li and the moments leading up to it were fantastic. I’ve seen some complaints about the boss fights from some posters on here but this one was really fun. I definitely enjoyed it and I love how, just like with some of Playstation’s other exclusives, it feels just like you’re playing a movie. Bravo.
I’d also like to mention…
how much I am enjoying this interpretation/adaptation of Otto. Man, is he great in this! The voice actor is brilliant and the direction is well executed. This is essentially an update or a reimagining of the 616 origin but all the classic elements of Otto’s character are intact. This is how you’re supposed to do an adaptation…those peeps at Marvel’s film division need to pay attention and take some damn notes. I kind of thought when we first see Otto with arms attached and as Peter you need to do some puzzle solving to correct some issues with the schematics of the power and whatever it was within the design of the system running the arms, that they’d go the SM2 route and have the AI in the arms be the ones to blame for Otto’s actions. But after that scene fully plays out that is clearly not going to be the case and I couldn’t be happier about that. I can’t wait to see how this all progresses but at the moment, this may be one of my favorite versions of Otto and hopefully Ock—right up there with Spectacular.
any word on when new game plus comes out? Since it's taking this long, I don't think it's just the story with your earned suits and abilities
I'm nearing 100% completion, has been quite a ride. I found that turning of the optional visual effects makes the game-feel better.
here is an In-Depth critique of SM ps4 that is pretty good, in case some of you are into this stuff
I hated both of those, lol. For some reason the Vulture/Electro one took me FOREVER. I liked the Ock fight the best. Like Joker said, it had the emotional weight, plus, it was just really visually dynamic. What’s everyone’s favorite boss fight? I like the Vulture/Electro one. Didn’t just seem like it was the normal QuickTime dodging like the Mr Negative fight.

Oh man, wait until you get to Act 3.

I think the biggest control change that's needed is making the parkour and web swing buttons different. L2 wasn't used during swinging -- why not just make that the parkour/wall run button?
There were a lot of in-between times where the game didn't know whether to swing or run...so it did a little bit of both.

L2 is the slow-mo button.
How long does it last? In Spider-Man 2 I think it sticks for 12 seconds, and Spider-Man 3 might have it on for a second shorter. I did not time it, just a guess.L2 is the slow-mo button.

Nice. Thanks for the answer.Good question. I can't remember exactly. There isn't a time meter that appears on screen but it lasts plenty long enough to make a decision about where to go next. It's never run out of time on me that I can recall but I also never just held it to test how long it would stay in that slow-mo mode.
Ock. It felt easier than the others but it was visually great and a lot of fun. What’s everyone’s favorite boss fight? I like the Vulture/Electro one. Didn’t just seem like it was the normal QuickTime dodging like the Mr Negative fight.
