Bruce Campbell 4 Mysterio, save the Spider-Man 4 dream.

Interesting about Damon. Wonder which villain it is

I'm guessing it's Mysterio. I was hoping that Michael Mando would return as Scorpion, though.

I mean it would be nice if Spider-Man Homecoming 2 has more of the crime-fighting aspect to it much like how the original Raimi trilogy did but then I wonder if in Holland's films with him playing Peter/Spidey if it doesn't lead up into a Sinister Six formation? Considering Webb's films were building towards that

Watts and Feige said they wouldn't necessarily use him in the sequel but he still could.

Sinister Six one day would be cool.

I'm not upset that Damon passed on it. It would make his cameo in Ragnarok confusing as hell. Yes, I know actors have played multiple roles in the MCU before, but they've only been minor parts. Like Laura Haddock playing the starstruck Captain America fan and Meredith Quill, or Martin Starr playing a college student in The Incredible Hulk and Peter's debate teacher in Homecoming.

He could return, but if for some reason they expand Scorpion's role to be the main villain in a Spider-Man sequel (unlikely), they'd probably recast him with a bigger name.

You COULD argue that Martin Starr’s character became a teacher after 8 years.. he looks like the same guy at least. The haddock thing is weird, as well as Alfre Woodard being in CIVIL WAR and LUKE CAGE.

Damon could've been Quentin Beck, making his cameo in Ragnarok as Beck make sense by him being a struggling actor :hehe:

Damon would have been interesting, though it isn't the first time Marvel has been passed on. They still manage to find great actors for the characters or have a alternate story in mind.

Bruce Campbell or Mark Hamill are my two top choices for Mysterio.

Kenneth Choi, who played Jim Morita in TFA, also played Peter's school principle in Homecoming as well.

Well that was on purpose. He played Principal Morita, Jim's grandson, in Homecoming and had pictures of the Howling Commandos in his office.

This. It’s stuff like this that make it work. The Martin Starr one needs a bit more validity but I’m willing to bet he’s supposed to be the same guy from TIH.

I knew Matt Damon wasn't considered for Mysterio. To the supporters of that idea, have you seen any of Matt Damon's movies, and have you read/seen any depictions of Mysterio? He makes zero sense for that role.

Not surprised that he was considered for Smythe, that makes way more sense.

I'm guessing Smythe, Scorpion and the Spider-Slayers are our villains! Can't say I'm that hyped if true.

Edit: wait did I get fooled? This would be the third time I've been fooled today :p

Eh where are you getting Smythe from? All the article stated was that he passed on a villain role...we're just speculating that role could be.

Damon as the villain would've been interesting. I can actually kind of see him as Dr. Octopus or even Norman Osborn, though I doubt that either one was the character he was considered for.

At any rate, it does give us an idea of the type of actor they're looking for though.

The Scorpion would be cool, but I'd honestly be underwhelmed if Smythe and the Spider-Slayers turned out to be the villains myself. I've just never cared for them as far as Spider-Man villains go.

I know Smythe isn't A List but he totally makes sense for the MCU.

1. He deals in advancing weaponry warfare, which could easily be another link to Stark Enterprise (heck they could link him to Justin Hammer)

2. He could start with drones and then recruit Gargan as a Human Guinea Pig, and create the Scorpion as a Human Spider-Slayer

3. They could bring back the Tinkerer and have him as an accomplice

The only thing I'd say is you can't have Smythe as a head honcho, like they did with Toomes. Unless they totally 're-write his character, he needs to be working for someone else (which could be revealed at the end leading to the villain for #3 - perfect opportunity to introduce Norman Osbourne)

High res version of Infinity War's Iron Spider suit:

^ Thanks!

Love the small red/gold accents on the web-shooters. Also, if you look closely, it looks like those are the original web-shooters from the MK I suit, and they’re just connected to a new “housing” of the Iron Spider suit, if that makes sense. I say this because if you look at where the spinneret is, you can see the circular palm trigger of the original web-shooter underneath, while there’s already a trigger on his palm.
