I agree with Spider-neil... in order for Spidey to be incorporated into the MCU, Sony has to be willing to play ball. but I seriously don't understand why they'd care about the costume..

If Garfield is out then I'm out as well Besides, I want to see a Marvel produced Spider-Man movie. If that doesn't happen then I want an A list director and writer. Wipe the slate clean and start fresh.

I do think that if it was just ASM then Marvel would have been happy enough to fold in the series along with Garfield, but I think that ASM2 just did too many things wrong for Marvel to be willing to use it. The fact that they killed Norman Osborn, Spider-Man's most iconic opponent (both in and out of the Golbin mask), without him ever becoming the Green Goblin by itself would be enough. He is supposed to be Peter's Joker, his Lex Luthor, his Red Skull, not a character you bump off.

Probably just a negotiating tactic, these days from a business perspective things like costumes tend to mainly matter for merchandising, something Sony has nothing to do with.

ASM was almost a perfect fit for MCU in style and tone but too many things were introduced in ASM2 to sweep under the rug.

If Spidey cameos in a Marvel movie the chances are everyone who watched ASM2 will see it is a new character and therefore the Webverse is dead.

The bottom line is Sony went 2 MARVEL asking for help. Why should MARVEL have 2 give up any creative control ? MARVEL does not need Spider-Man in their movies period. Most MARVEL movies just about makes back what was spent on them anyway & add in the merchandising returns. So why would MARVEL need 2 give up any sort of creative control ? MARVEL does not need Sony. Sony needs MARVEL. If Sony wants 2 crash & burn along with Spidey. Then have at it Sony

I find this strangely funny.. :funny: :lmao:

Disney needs to switch everything.

- Marvel Studio's Spider-Man or Spider-Man: Subtitle

- Young Spidey actor should be no more than 18. PP shouldn't be older than high school sophomore.

- Flex Spideys brain muscles when interacting with other Heroes

- Involve Bendis in pre production or script ideas

- Follow USM.. Pp working part time after school as a webmaster at the bugle instead of photography

- Focus on Kong Liz Flash etc as his supporting cast

- Bring in Gwynn or Mary Jane with the classmates but not as love interest

- Replace Kitty Pryde with a MCU equivalent hero to be Spider-Man love interest someone who can take care of herself.

- Spidey crimefighting with his gf would be a welcome change

- Replace Sinister Six with Thunderbolts led by Osborne. Have Osborne create Venom for that team. Phase IV

- Get JJJ/Bugle involved bashing Super Heroes except Cap

- Involve Jessica Drew instead whatever girl movie they have planned. Spider-Woman in the sequel

SO MANY POSSIBILITIES!! A young Spider-Man can lead the MCU way after RDJ leaves this is great for Disney

Sounds like a porn name... or reverse porn name, since she sounds like someone prudish who won't get her boobs out for the camera. :p

If Garfield was fired would we not have heard about this in October and not convieniently when the hacked E-Mails were leaked? Gg:shr:

Not if they were trying to keep a lid on it and not let it be known as a further problem that Sony are experiencing. They would've wanted to present a strong front and revealing that Garfield is gone is showing a weakness.

When Entertainment Weekly revealed talks happened I'm pretty sure they said Sony were only interested if it was not a reboot?

Sony doesn't have to announce Garfield walking as the earliest you would see him in a Spider-Man movie is 2016 so there is no need to rush to announce anything.

When Raimi left and Maguire left this was announced shortly. Surely news that big would have been atleast rumoured two months ago.

Sony doesn't know what they want. Pascal has different stories for whoever she's emailing at the time.

They donn't have to announce anything untill Spring. If S6 is out in November casting should be done in Spring at earliest, possibly Summer.

Getting rid of Garfield... Not very smart.

Hoping it's a hoax.

How can you fit Garfield into the MCU. He's to old for Spider-Man anyways. Tired of 30 something's trying pass for HS grads. Recast a teenager

Sinister Six in 2016, Spider-Man 3 in 2018, New writers for Venom and a 2017 film. Kurtzman to write Venom and ASM3. Webb will return as they said in SDCC. This is official news.

EW report that talks about Spidey in a MCU film is happening. Hollywood Reporter (I think that was the site) confirm it. Sony make it clear that they are not interested in some kind of reboot.

Wall Street Journal get hold of leaked E-Mails which include things about Steve Jobs film, Jump Street, Spider-Man etc. Hack reveals an animated Spidey comedy idea and talks happened between Sony and Disney but fell through due to distribution/production disagreements and a Spider-Man summit for further updates to happen in January.

@MakeMinesMarvel

Spidey doesn't need to be a teenager. Pete was about 20 and the end of ASM2.

Tying the ASM universe into the MCU can be done. It'd just take some clever writing.

Andrew Garfield has proven himself a legitimately good actor and is amazingly, also a Spidey fan. He grew up with the character and understands Spidey just as much as we do.

That's why I think getting rid of him would be stupid. That's just me, though, of course.

He wasn't 20 he was 18. Hadn't started college yet.

So many rumors, so many hypotheticals... This summit needs to happen A.S.A.P. Rocky.

Start new in the new universe. You restore his mythos, his villains, and any other damage done. You start a new franchise with a kid, 5-6 films ala Harry Potter but done the Marvel Studios way. Clean slate, new universe.

Which is why people should only believe official news because it's well... Official!
