Vincent D'Onofrio as the big bad would bring some much needed gravitas to a Spider-Man film. Imagine Spidey having to consult with DD.

But would Wilson Fisk have some kind of rivalry with Jonah Jameson like in the animated series?

Both a potential crossover and a Fisk/JJJ rivalry would be great potential.

Thunderbolts would be great. I think James Gunn said he could have ended up doing a Tbolts movie if GotG didn't take off. The book was still a pretty good read back when Osborn was in charge before he became Iron Patriot.

Speaking of Tbolts I would also love to see Beetle/Mach V in the movies at some point.

Sylvain White? Really odd choice...
back before Joss signed onto the Avengers, I always thought his aesthetic and voice (witty, pop culturey, good balance of pathos and humor) would be perfect for a Spider-Man film.

I'm trying really hard not to get my hopes up but seeing Spidey in the MCU
would just be so damned cool.

Didn't really know much about Whedon until I saw The Avengers. After that I have caught up on his projects and I 100% agree he'd be perfect for Spider-Man!

It's very telling when some of the biggest Spidey fans on here are starting to turn against Sony making these movies anymore.

If Norman Osborne is in the MCU, could he hijack the Iron Patriot armour from Jim Rhodes and use it for himself? That would bring him into contention with Iron Man. There could easily be an Iron Man/Spider-Man team up movie resulting in the future.

Don´t get me wrong i really like TASM and i think TASM2 was mediocre but i still like a lot some parts of it...BUT

after confirming that Sony has nothing even planned and that they might have lost the last saving grace of these movies i lost all faith and interest in this franchise.
