i just finished it, i chose all hero results. i will replay it again with all dark results.

obama 08 , anyway why is spiderman wos such a bad game im getting it today, i heard mild reviews and all but seriously ign doesnt make sense not that i agree with that other guy or anything ,but imho ign will only give high scores to games that get supported highly by the media like gta4 that game didnt deserve a 10 it was more of the same thing.

Well, WOS is supposed to have many bugs. Like screen tearing, weird sound at times, invisible NPCs, freezing, etc. The biggest negative is the repetitiveness. The game basicallly consists out of beating dozens of enemies, bringing someone to the hospital, again beating dozens of oppenents, bringing someone to the hospital, story advance and boss fight, beat dozens of enemies, etc. Oh, and no free-roaming after you beat the game. You start from zero.

It seems to suffer from many of the same mistakes SM3 did. And we know how many people felt that was a letdown. Though they did some things better, but also some things worse.

Ultimately, people seem to like it so much simply because of the swinging & combat and the Marvel cameo appearances.

I haven't got to the end yet... but other people are saying there is no free roam after you beat it.

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows - Amazing Allies Edition got a 7/10 on the PSP. Im not surprised they ranked it higher than the console version

After everything I have read, I think I'm just renting...or buying when it's around twenty bucks.

The steps you have to take to play free-roam is just stupid. Activision really has seemed to drop the ball on this franchise. That is sad since they had the best blueprints to go off of with SM2.

From what I've read in this thread and on GameFaqs.com:

If you are a spidey fan...buy it and you will love it. If a casual gamer, give it a rent first...but it's still a very fun game.

I heard the new DS sonic game is actually pretty good.But I don't have a DS so...

That actually isn't the case it all. We're were talking about the IGN review and how you thought they were the odd-ball. So I pointed out Team Xbox's score, leaving IGN not alone with their decision.

Then you had to mention "professional" reviews, as if people, just because they do it for a living, have more say than a casual player.

Here's the thing...

The game obviously isn't AMAZING!!! but according to most people who own or have played the game, it's damn fun. Now here's were the "if your a Spidey fan" part comes in: If you aren't a fan, chances are you are looking for an overall great game to play...but if you are a Fan of a particular character, chances are you can overlook many flaws and still get enjoyment.

That's not to say the game isn't flawed...it's just that fans are looking for particular things that they will get more enjoyment out of than others. for instance...i really just want a game where you feel like you are Spidey (great combat and webslinging) and a big enough environment to get enjoyment from. I wasn't expecting this game to have a good story...when i first heard the title i thought "sounds lame as hell" and then i saw gameplay videos and i was like "oh man that looks awesome! Look at the way Spidey is moving!! and symbiotes all over the place!" If you aren't a fan...it's just a comic book character with cool moves fighting gloopy people.

It would be great if this were a mind blowing game on par with MGS4 or something...but we did get great Spidey combat and webslinging and a good city. As a fan, I can overlook the flaws as long as the game is fun. I'll still hope for more from the next game though.
