yeah it can't be as a result of test screening audiences. More like studio execs and others heavily involved in producing the film were reviewing the very very very rough cut of dailies and unfinished footage ...as more of an idea of how its come together and what to expect. So the movie was probably put together from beginning to end, and as a result those viewing felt the need for more action. But theres no way they would show this to test audiences yet...especially a movie this big...with so much to be spoiled...and most of the time the big budget movies with special effects usually are completed to some extent with a movie this caliber for test audiences.

You nearly took the words right out of my mouth. As soon as I read that release I thought either Raimi or the Sony executives (or both) saw a rough cut of the film and felt the film needed more action.

I enjoyed Spidey 2 overall, but I thought the film dragged in some spots. I can see why it grossed less than the first film. The story was better, but not nearly as fun IMHO. Sony has put over $250 mil into this film. Spidey 3 needs to be exciting if they expect for it to cross the 400 million mark domestically.

The recent Superman film was ok, but it lacked action. Nearly every fan I've talked to thought it wasn't "spectacular" and failed to live up to the hype. When I walked out I thought to myself "Where did the 200 (or possibly 250)million dollars go?" I hope Spidey 3 won't leave me with the same impression.

I'm glad they have plenty of time to work on the film.

^^^^
Thanks...and atleast we know now that it was false...Theres always someone out there that posts an article like that saying something like "I guess Spidey 3 is doomed" just because they hear that re-shoots are being done. Spidey3 is going to be amazing...and we will see onscreen one of the most expensive movies ever made...it will show. I had the same exact feeling with SR...I liked it, but I walked away thinking "and how much did they spend on it?" As a result part 2 is gonna get a smaller budget...and will have to deliver more action...it might be tough to pull off.

Lack of action? How the hell is that possible?

i sense major suckeness from spider-man 3. :down

So sad if spider-man 3 lacks action then will BOMB at boxoffice like superman returns :o

That in his world, this is the real world, when his name in convo doesnt need the hyphen to be known. BTW Didnt the Daily Bugle papers drop the hyphen too?

the movie isnt lacking on action the movie is fine all the action from the teaser trailer looks awesome and the action from the comic-con trailer looks awesome.all the action is ganna be awesome this movie wont suck its ganna be the best comic book movie ever.

Hyphen or not, what about my point? I can't recall Spidey 2 having test screens, the point of testing an audience is gaining knowledge and statistics, like demographic, when the movie should be released, etc.

Why would they test this? Waste of money for the studio, we know it's gonna be the bees knees.

Wait a sec, if they do reshoot, it most likely will not have scenes with Gwen as Bryce Dallas Howard is pregnant.

Or maybe they only require scenes where she's filmed from waist up like close ups.

Anyways I'm surprised people wanted more action cause trailers looked like they had enough. Hopefully it wont hinder the story cause that looks good in itself

Hey, I was reading about this hyphen stuff above, and it is important! It distinguishes Spider-man from Superman, something that Stan Lee wanted. He thought that without the hyphen, the appearance of the name would be too close to Superman.

It's not important on the boards, everyone here knows who Spiderman is. arguing over the hyphen in Spider-man is like arguing over simple mispellings and/or slight grammatical errors. It's just not that important, unless you have nothing else to ***** about besides little things like that. With all this paintball harry, goblin or no and people trying to say the Rocketeer is better than Iron Man(roflmao)...i highly doubt that.

pick ups, not re shoots.
I'm confused. Isn't the term pickup a type of reshoot? And yeah, Rocketeer is great. Could use more action though... ;)
