If she has one American parent and one Asian parent she may not look Asian.
time to change that.Bring the story to audiences over here. Not all of us like to watch movies in different languages
Yup Brolin doesn't have that down to earth, regular guy feeling about him. Maybe that plays into the movie though.Looks better than I expected, but it totally looks like a case of "Total Recall", where they were supposed to be following the source material, when in reality they're just remaking the original movie (and failing, for the most part). Someone said redundant (Octoberist?), they were right.
Also, Min-sik Choi, the original lead actor had a quality to him that Brolin just doesn't have (for the particular movie). And in Oldboy, the protagonist carries the movie.
I'm quite honestly trying to keep an open mind about this, but I just don't see it. I can't. It's a very special movie to me and, regardless of how I feel about remakes in general, I'm not feeling this one bit.
is that a body double for Olsen? hmmmmmmmmm![]()
Looks good. A lot of you guys need to get off your high horses and stop acting like pretentious psuedo film snobs. As a guy who likes the original, not everyone's gonna watch the Korean version. Some of you guys don't get that, but not everyone wants to read subtitles and they see it as distracting. This is something that's not gonna change, at least not overnight or in the next few years. This is a story that Hollywood wanted to bring to American audiences and I'm just glad it's not losing the grittiness (or at least not too much of it) in the process.
Nothing to do with subtitles. If you are going to do this, you need to either do something different with the material or make a better film. That is what Nolan and Scorsese did with Insomnia and The Departed respectively. This is fine if you do it right.
How dare me.Film snob.
whats that suppose to mean the man has only made 2 movies in 7 years and one of them was inside manHow dare me.
But seriously, this film really does look pointless. I still remember the first time I saw the Departed trailer. It being a remake didn't matter one bit. Looked so fresh and Scorsese. This not so much. Can't really expect much out of Spike Lee these days.
Red Hook Summer came out last year.whats that suppose to mean the man has only made 2 movies in 7 years and one of them was inside man
st. anne was a bump in the road but this looks pretty good imo
I like both of those, especially Dragon Tattoo, because I prefer Mara and Craig in their roles. I prefer Let the Right One In.And how do you know it won't be different. Did you like Let Me In? Did you like Girl With the Dragon Tattoo? Both versions had different visual styles, but essentially were the same stories. Spike Lee put his visual spin on this movie too. You can see it in the trailer. It has a few elements of the Korean movie, but it's not like it's going to be a shot for shot remake.

That is a very all encompassing statement that clearly isn't true. Universal statements never are. That's a moot point. This is an attempt by Hollywood to make a movie English to appeal to American audiences. Not exactly a pointless movie like you imply. And if they don't want to watch it in English, there's the Korean version. And the Hindi version.
But people want to trash the English version because it's Hollywood and popular thing to do on the internet.
I kinda liked "Inside Man". It wasn't amazing, but I remember liking it. But that is his only film I have liked since "He Got Game". To the point that I have trouble believing he is really the guy who made Malcolm X.
