I'm not going to chase them down... but i won't be upset when they accidentally read spoilers that old.

The original Oldboy is one of the most ridiculously overrated films I've ever seen. Aside from being bafflingly dull, I've never understood the fanfare about the hallway fight scene. Everyone is actively trying not to hit Dae-Su, even after he makes some vicious strike and then pauses in a vulnerable position for a number of seconds. You have guys pretending to kick him while there is an open lane to his body, you have guys running into his hammer. That is how people behave when they're choreographing a fight dance or sparring with a dictator. That does not happen in a real street fight. He would have had his head caved in by a swarm of blows. And then Stoker? How incoherent and pointless a film. That PCW managed to achieve some impressive visuals doesn't compensate for enough.

Yeah, count me in the group of people who think the director of 25th Hour destroys Park Chan-Wook as a filmmaker.

Of course they are all actively trying not to hit him.... it's a movie. A low budget one at that.
As far as overrated.... yea I'd say so... I've met quite a few people who claim to olve it but when having a conversation with them found they never even seen it.

Who rates a film without seeing it?

I have to say though, the movie's story is kinda better than the manga's story. The ending of the original story is really dumb.

what excuse i think you missed my point completely

i said it is dumb to ruin the movie because isn't as popular like say a fight club that everyone has seen

This thing got pushed back to Thanksgiving. I can't think of a better film about spending time with your relatives than this one.

good trailer. i'm impressed. that coming from someone who thinks that the original is almost a masterpiece..

I'm disappointed as I can no longer see this film on my birthday :(

Spike Lee has said that this movie's ending will be "darker" than the original, how is that even possible?

He stays with his daughter and they get married?

He might have stayed with his daughter and gotten married in the original for all we know. The ending was rather ambiguous.

One way would be for the daughter to find out too and does something drastic such as jumping off a bridge.

One would think the incest angle is really going to turn casual moviegoers away.

Would Spike Lee of all people really care about turning people off?

I haven't seen the original, is there supposed to be some kind of big plot twist or secret reveal in this movie? It seems like someone might have cautioned me about spoilers once upon a time but I can't remember.
