Splinter Cell: ConViction

I tend to agree, I liked the look in Double Agent. the shaved head gruff look is slightly overdone in games but it did seem to fit the character well in Double Agent.

From the screenshots he looks like a guy going to uni or something.

Ubisoft seem to have a bad habit of having good idea's but poorly implementing them, Splinter Cell is one of there few compitently designed games imo. I suspect with this more action oriented, sandbox approach, focusing on the story, they will probably bugger it up.

From recent screenshots from PAX, it looks like hobo Sam is in the game.

Maybe he decides he gots to look good hunting down his daughter's killers at some point in the game.

I don't mind waiting for this one, strangely enough. I'd much rather get a fresh, exciting take on Splinter Cell, as Conviction promises to be, when it's just right than have it be rushed and wind up with a mediocre attempt at reinvigorating the franchise.

Apparently, it's a first look at the Splinter Cell ConViction Collector's Edition.

According to the listing, the special-edition Splinter Cell: Conviction package has many of the customary pack-ins associated with premium game bundles. Namely, the Collector's Edition includes a "Making of" DVD, a 32-page comic book that recounts the intervening in-game period between 2006's well-received Splinter Cell Double Agent and Conviction, as well as exclusive in-game content.

That's not all, though, as the product listing indicates that the Collector's Edition will also include a figurine of grizzled protagonist Sam Fisher. As one more added perk, the package will apparently also include a free download for 2005's well-rated Splinter Cell Chaos Theory through Xbox Live, which is otherwise available for 1,200 MSP ($15).

I'm a collector so, oohrah. Totally buying that. Chaos Theory download is pretty sweet too, I still have my actual copy though. I love the new shooting thing they've got going.

Not bad really. $60 for the game plus $15 for the Chaos Theory download is $75. The only thing is you're playing $25 for a figurine, a comic book (which probably sucks) and DVD (which is probably boring). Though I wonder what the "exclusive in game content" is.

I like how they state Double Agent was "well received". I liked it but I know that's not universal.

Hah yea, Double Agent was by far my least favorite of the three.

I liked Double Agent. I'm kind of interested in the comic book about the events between that and Conviction, but not interested enough to drop $100 for it. Like Darth said, it'll probably suck anyway because I doubt they'll pay actual, good comic creators to work on it.

Double Agent was pretty well received, actually. It got alot of great reviews, and sold a boat load of money for the franchise.

I think most of all, Double Agent was not well received by the fanbase.

Sun drenched levels...ewww.

I didn't mind them. A spy shouldn't be limited to sneaking around at night. Plus, the hotel level was super-awesome.

Yea there were a few missions that i absolutely loved, but at the same time there were missions i hated and that had never happened to me with this franchise. I had always loved every mission. I do hope Conviction is set up the same way tho, with each mission separated so you can go back and replay your favorite sections of the game.
