Splinter Cell: ConViction

I think its been confirmed that the code is just for a free download for the Conviction website, unfortunately.

On a side note, i dont think every copy of ACII comes with the code, or maybe its that the collectors editions dont come with the code as i didnt get one(and i bought the collectors edition)

Well, thats bull**** (not what you said but the fact we don't get one). Fortunately, the code seems to be the same from every thing I've seen of it.

Yeah, appears the code is for a wallpaper and some ringtones.

And by ringtones, apparently, Ubisfot means 10 or so clips of Michael Ironside saying some cool ****.

Not shabby, really. The demo rumor wasn't started by Ubisoft, so I cannot be angry at them at all.

Man that sucks.:csad:

haha nope, it was that damn HipHopGamer!!!

Yeah. Man, what were we doing listening to them Pat? I guess we just really, really wanted a demo.

I'm going to pre-order the Collector's Edition soon. I feel like an idiot for being a day too late to pre-order the ACII Limited Edition.

I was actually handed a little cardboard booklet when I picked up my ACII game. A little cardboard booklet that is a promo for Splinter Cell: ConViction, and the Collector's Editions.

my copy of AC2 had that inside of it....Ill take the wallpaper though if there is one there...I haven't looked at it yet

Website wasn't loading my Ubi Login site this morning so I gave up.

Haha yea, i really really did. I mean SC:C is by far my most anticipated game right now. What do you get with the SC:C Collectors edition again? I think i might go that route as well.

Edit nvm, i just found ur orig post on the collectors edition. Yea, ill be getting that as well.

Um, off the top of my head...you get a digital comic book prequel, a USB drive that's supposedly filled with screenshots, storyboards, artwork, wallpapers and some behind the scenes videos too. An artbook that's supposed to have artwork from all Splinter Cell game from SC1, PT, CT, DA and Conviction. You get a submachine gun, and a Multiplayer skin too.

With the Gamestop bonus, you get a supressed semi-automatic shotgun to use in the game too.

A steelbook case, with two stickers (!!!) to use as well.

I was so mad that my Assassins Creed 2 didn't come with the code by that's just life.

If it would have been a demo code I would have been so mad but since it's not I don't really care.:woot:

I am really excited for this game, I put down the money for it when I bought Assassin's Creed 2

I saw two Splinter Cell books at Walmart last night, one was Conviction. Anyone know if the book is directly based on the game or what?

Interesting...I didn't know. I noticed after reading your post, that there's another one with the same cover as the game's cover called Splinter Cell: Endgame. The product overview of ConViction sounds like a precursor to the game,...but I could be wrong.

I've read about two novels.

The first two in the series, Splinter Cell and Splinter Cell Operation Baracuda had absolutely nothing to do with the games except the characters. Sam, his daughter, Lambert, and later on Grimm was added to the second novel.

The first one, I thought was a pretty good. It was an adult look at some of the characters...like there's sexual stuff covered by the author for Sam and Sarah (his daughter). The second one was a little too predictable and a little over-the-top...but it was okay.

There's more too, Splinter Cell Checkmate and Splinter Cell Fallout.

I've only read the first two and parts of Checkmate. They're ok. The games are better obviously.

I was going to check out those Splinter Cell books, but most of the reviews were negative so I'll stick with avoiding them.

I flipped through the ConViction book. It says its book for the game so I guess its an adaptation.

So is everyone hoping for the mp to return?

I'm hoping the co op and mp that was found in Chaos Theory make an appearance. Those modes were great fun.

DA's MP was very fun, I just could rarely find a good match after the online population died down.

Yea I thought the mp in DA wasn't bad, I felt it moved a little faster compared to CT. I just hope thr co op from CT sees a return. Thr co op in DA was terrible. I couldn't get enough of the co op in CT tho. Some of the most fun iv had with co op.

I've never bothered with the multiplayer. Just have fewer bugs in the campaign than the last game, and tweak the stealth meter a bit.

The co-op was an absolute blast in Chaos Theory. It moved along side the single player story and featured the same gameplay. If you played with another Splinter Cell junkie, it made for some great, great fun. I remember one section of the first level for co-op had you sneaking into a room where 2 guys were watching tv, my partner and i would always count down taking both guys out simultaneously with a shot to the back of the head. Another really cool thing about the co-op in CT is the enemies could actually hear you talking through your headset, so if you were sneaking up on someone and started talking to your partner, the enemy would turn around. Super fun co-op.

None of the people I work with play video games, and the xbox live community doesn't interest me, aside from using it to download demos, patches and extra single-player missions.
