Splinter Cell: ConViction

So for those with the collectors edition, did you have problems with the flash drive? I just tried mine and it worked no problem. Some great looking wallpapers in there.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the black and white but I like the idea of it and how they're trying to go for little to no hud plus it fits in with what he told his daughter in the beginning about how he can see everyone while he's in the dark but noone can see him. Hahahaha the running animation was really wierd looking and I dont know if its something I'm doing wrong but always when I'm running away Sam will just stop mid-run and start to walk and that can get annoying.

I just finished the game on realistic difficulty took about 9 hours, wow what a great ending. Could they be setting up a sequel perhaps with Megguido still out there. I really hope so because this game is amazing. I love how they make the final few levels really hard by having most of the soldiers wearing helmets and not being able to shoot out the chemical lights or the flares. Along with other splinter cells attacking you. I'm curious to see what other people chose to do at the end. I kill Reed, the mother ****er deserved the bullet in his head.

Yea i think it will be very interesting to see what they do next. I mean, it seemed as tho Sam was done, but at the end, we know he was breaking Coste out which leads me to believe if something happens to his family or close friends, he could be pulled back in. Then again, maybe they are setting it up for a new lead character. Id like to think that Grim will take over 3rd Echelon, or another organization like it, become the new Lambert. I wouldn't hate it if they gave us a new protagonist, maybe some new Splinter Cell, fresh outta training, but id want Sam to be there in some form.

Yeah I agree about Grim. Since Sam blew up the first 3rd Echelon, she'll probably start a new agency under the President's orders since they saved her at the end. I really like Sam when the campaign turns personal for him so maybe have Meguiddo kill Vic or something like that. Also I wouldn't mind seeing the President play a bigger role the fact that she is a woman President and that she looked the other way at the end makes her an already interesting character. The next one can't come soon enough.

If you're a fan of Splinter Cell or really the stealth action genre, then yes most definitely worth the money. The gameplay is really addicting, the campaign is great and can easily be played 2 or 3 times before it even begins to get boring plus there's co-op which I hear is great and the Deniable Ops is really fun.

I hate to use this example, but maybe set up some type of Captain Price-Soap dynamic?

The game is awesome. It's still Splinter Cell. Its a faster, more energetic Splinter Cell...but there's nothing to fear about it becoming Gears of War, the name of the game is still stealth.

I've enjoyed the CO-OP, it's what I've most played so far. The maps are nice and challenging, because I get my ass handed to me in some sections. I missed out on the CO-OP fun of Chaos Theory, but it certainly feels like the Co-Op experience I'd heard so much about is perfectly re-created with Conviction.

Deniable Ops is just a ton of fun. It feels like it's the Splinter Cell equivalent to the MGS VR Missions. Being able to customize your avatar is a great way to personalize them, and allowing players to go split-screen, online co-op, or solo is a no-brainer...but I've seen enough games that fail to do so, that Splinter Cell Conviction deserves a medal just for having so many options open.

I'm still playing the story, on normal for now...I'll go realistic on my second playthrough, but the arguments about it being only 5 hours are very misleading and wrong, I think. The game can easily be twice that, if you take your time and try to ghost most of the levels. I've enjoyed the mixing they've added too, like the Iraq level. That was a fanastic stroy-telling device they used for the level. The story is really great so far, and pretty intense. The first meeting with Grim at the start...is a pretty intense scene.

You know, it's probably worth mentioning that the complaint of the story being too short has been one that I've heard tossed at Double Agent and Chaos Theory, which I disagreed with as well.

Oh, btw...Archer = Christian Bale.

I swear sometimes it sounds like they got Bale to voice him with his Batman voice.

Mine works, it's just empty. I've put a picture on it...so it's fine, but not pre-loaded.

Ubisoft says they will allow people who bought the CE to download it today. I'm not sure if non-CE owners will be able to as well, but keep your eye on this website: http://splintercell.com/usboffer/index_en.php

Wait until you start facing the other Splinter Cells. I hated when i heard the sound of those goggles coming on only to have them breach a door filling the room with debris. And dont think you can just hide in the dark or behind stuff, they can see you. Tough s.o.b's

You fight other SC's? Goddamn
I've only played like an hour so far (still at the mansion), but this game is amazing.
I haven't even touched Deniable Ops!

My 360 doesn't recognize it, nor does my PC. Guess they couldn't afford a memory stick or a better USB card, like the one American Express sent me in a futile attempt to have me get a credit card.

Yea dude and they know what they are doing....but you're still Sam Fisher.

Damn, that sucks. I didnt try it with my 360, but my Mac had no problems reading it. I was kinda surprised.

It's weird too. I had no idea how to open the damn thing, then I thought "does it move?" and when it opened up, the chip that the USB port is supposed to read fell out. I put it back in, but nothing.

The one that American Express sent in the mails stays in the part that swivels.

I was worried that the faster pace of the game would take away from the stealth elements and that is not a problem....I done stormed that mansion, busted some caps, yanked some guys out of windows

and the game makes you want to replay levels, evil ***** that she is

just downloaded infiltration mode from uplay (wtf is this uplay thing btw?) that sounds like it will be good fun - the iraq mission was a bit rubbish for me - oh and the game almost has to be done stelthily its too hard to just blaze through and no fun

uplay is a thing that ubisoft has put together, basically its all their games on a network...encourages replay and you get stuff

fair enough - just thought the unlockables coulda been done in game personally

You aren't the only one. Uplay, imo, is kind of an unneeded middle man. If you are going to allow me to unlock stuff, just do it in game. But i think their goal is to expand it to where you will be able to earn points and unlockables for every game, not just the one game you are playing, a kind of link to all their titles. I still think its pretty pointless but oh well.

i suppose its kinda cool if for instance you dont want some of the unlockables offered you can save them up for another game - i dont play that many ubisoft games though really

also it had a user content area - anyone heard anything about that???

Just beat the singler player campaign last night.

Holy **** was it awesome. Hands down the best story from any of the Splinter Cell games. The game gets nuts to, but yet they focus on small moments enough to add weight to the pretty high octane story itself.

Can't wait for the sequel.
