Spoiler free review at Fantasymoguls!

Nice. My excitement level is off the scale :D

Harry Potter has female appeal...something Transformers does not have in abundance. There are no big male leads in this movie to draw the female audience like Pirates, Harry Potter or even SM3 (Tobey and James have quite a following). You CANNOT count out the female audience. They took a lot of business away from SR last year by going to see Devil Wears Prada instead. Transformers is still going to have to fight an uphill battle.

You have a good point but Superman Returns was also a chick flick... now females yes harry potter but from someone that worked at a toy store during harry potters height in popularity will tell you that kids did not preffer his crappy toy line over Transformers even without a movie out there.... THink OF THE KIDS!!!

HP will be competition, but there's no way I see it making close to the last HP film.

More straight in the middle between the last two. The book news making up for the bad release date. These movies thrive during the winter, not the summer. I really wish Disney will move Narnia's date into winter as well so the sequel can do good.

There's no way that People will think HP5 looks cooler than TF!!! For now, one thing is for surden; TF will OWN all other movie's visually!!!!

Wrong. Children of today who have not been exposed to the might of the Transformers like all of us have are excited. The Harry Potter following is almost religious.

I dont know. I was working in a theater and we have a huge Transformers display behind the where we tear tickets, and there are a lot of kids that seemed to be interested in the movie. Regardless of if they know the back story or not, they are interested. I am not sure if they will be more interested in TF than HP, but it isnt too farfetched considering that this is something completely new, and HP is a concept 5 movies old. We all know how young children can have short attention spans.

Wrong??? No... RIGHT!!!! At least part of that post... the second part- you'd have to be blind or have HP fan bias to not see that one as the case:

TF will OWN all other movie's visually!!!!

It's the TOP contender for Academy Award Special Effects, hell- the couple of clips have already made everything this summer seem amateurish in nature. And the funny thing- the film didn't cost alot to make, unlike Spidey and Pirates.... and this is coming from an SM fan. ILM are GENIUSES and the BEST in the field. Transformers, visually, has already stomped on every summer movie and every upcoming summer movie... now it's just a matter of waiting for that award.

Wrong??? No... RIGHT!!!! At least part of that post...

Fixed my quote. I never said the visuals won't be insane. From all of the reviews so far, most have said that this movie should win the Oscar for Sound. I could see it getting nods for visuals. Haven't seen anything that matches it yet, but it is a long year.

Oh... okay, makes more sense now. Yeah, in the first part you are right- HP does have a large following.

Which personally I never understood; each movie seems to be more and more, "seen it" and forcing down my throat...

But, hey- I won't lie, HP does have that religious following.

Harry Potter will make alot of money, no doubt. But look at it this way...

The guys over at fantasymogul, it's their job to predict box office numbers. And their prediction for Transformers went up from $240 million to $330 million after watching the movie. They were already predicting this movie to be a huge success. But now they're saying Transformers will be the best film this summer!

While I don't know there reputation, just remember it isn't the first time a movie has had good reviews but bombed in the BO. I still have confidence that TF will do very well, I still hold reserve though.

Very excited about this movie. It will be like when Spider-man and X-Men finally premiered, and brought the stuff I love as a kid to the big screen. As a longtime TF fan who still collects the toys, I can't wait for this movie.

SUCH HEROIC NONSENSE!:woot:
tf4.jpg

hahaha!

Ron Weasley just got his head blown off by the REAL Megatron. :woot:

Too bad he isn't in the movie. :csad:

Harry Potter 5= 800-900 million Worldwide

TF = 500-600 Worldwide

An epic TF movie with more heart and soul could've made 750-850 million. Oh well.

I really can't wait to sit down in that theater watching this film!!!
Us who spends time on the net KNOWS that this film will be something else VISUALLY, for sure! Something as new and exiting as seeing Roger Rabbit for the first time! This factor will surprise most people in theaters, cause they dont know it nor are they expecting it...

This may be a Mike Bay film, to which many seems to think that it'll be an action flick with no story!... Not one review thus far has said this film has a weak story... I heard one say that there isn't all too much to the plot. but he didn't say that the plot was flat out dumb! Also, not one review has said that the movie drags one single minute! That is a huuuge plus-factor right there ladies and gentlemen! So importened to remember! If things gets too complicated, you loose your audience!!! Especially when thinking off how much Pirates 3 and (sadly) Spidey 3 dragged in places.

Granted this is one hell of a popcorn flick, but it's a popcorn flick with heart (this has been said many times in the reviews so far!) I'm already in love with BumbleBee, and I haven't even seen the film yet! I like how some people describes the film! It's about a boy and his first car! and the undertone of it all is; No sacrifice, no victory (right!?). Simple, yet so beautiful!

I would also like to add that no less than 2-months ago, I didn't know **** about TransFormers! I gotta admit that the first teaser-trailer with the camera on Mars, as a shadowy robot comes across smashing it, didn't have be pumped the least bit! Damn it, they made it seem like the robots came from mars and now they will come to kill us!!! It felt like this film would be a comedy based on War of the Worlds or something; Soooo misleading!

Since than I've went from NON-hyped, to something above the exstreme! I can't even believe that I'm this hyped now!!! I've had my older brother tell me all he knows about the TF-cartoon! He loves TF, but I know a lot more about the upcoming film than he does! "You ruin this for me, and you wont live to see twenty-five! I dont wanna hear ANYTHING about the film, until I see it". I have to respect that.. But daaaaamn it's hard keeping my mouth shut to every one, ESPECIALLY after I read the leaked script! can't wait can't wait can't wait! The movie, judging from the script, is FULL of potential! It all comes down to how it's portrayed on screen, and it sure sounds like they've nailed it!

Damn, I'm rambling!

Here is another great review: http://www.thewest.com.au/default.aspx?MenuID=23&ContentID=31798

''There were also plenty of sighs of relief from hard-core Transformers fans who were worried that Michael Bay, a Hollywood sledgehammer who routinely beats his audiences into submission (Bad Boys, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor), would stomp all over a cherished childhood memory.

But the gathered geeks seemed most pleased of all as Bay, under the guidance of producer Steven Spielberg, masterfully mixes live action and CGI animation, delivering a work that once again raises the bar on what is possible in this era of visual astonishments.

Best of all he keeps his tongue firmly in his cheek in telling the story of a nerdy teenager who becomes the centre of a titanic battle between Autobots (good) and Decepticons (bad), the outcome of which will determine the fate of mankind and the entire universe.

And much of the film’s humour can be credited to the performance of Shia LaBeouf, whose awkwardness with women, inability to deal with his wellmeaning but annoying parents and knee-knocking fear in the face of the robots make him a marvellously human hero.

Astutely, Bay extends that humanity to the robots, imbuing them with so much personality that the audience had more concern for the fate of the heroic Autobots than most of the movie’s flesh-and-blood characters.''

Hmm, ever since seeing starscream transform, i have never thought there would be a problem with this film visually...

I only hope the story is enough to carry it through, i'm not hearing much about the story and more about the glorious fight scenes..

this always has me worried about of a film of this genre...

As i've thought for a long time now, TF will be the surprise of the summer in that it will be better than all the movie people expected to be better than it. I cant wait for this.

The Harry Potter following is almost religious.

...and so is Transformers. Transformers has a generational cult following. I was down in London's oxford street the other day and the amount of men and women wearing Transformers T-shirts was unusually staggering.'ve never seen so many people at one time wear those t-shirts in my life. I

So, you never watched the cartoons or read the comics?? :o

A younger cult following is always going to be stronger than an older one..

potter is a recent trend, especially since the last book is due...

it's going to be one massive tie in special...
