Mystery/Thriller Squid Game

Its basically Netflix's Saw, Hunger Games, Final Destination, Escape Room, Battle Royale.

People would be curious to see the games and who would survive the experience. Not surprised if they do more. I did skip the reality show and only watched the first episode. It didn't hold my interest.

I'm now rewatching the first season and completely forgot a lot of things that happened when it first aired.
I'm doing a rewatch before starting season 2, and yes, there are so many details, characters, and moments that I had entirely forgotten. It's a dense show, in a good way. Also, it's been years.

I really enjoyed the newest season overall but I honestly had the same problems with it that I had with the HOTD Season 2 finale in that the cliffhanger ending just wasn't the most satisfying way to end the season.

Thankfully the next season is coming out sometime next year but it felt like we were missing an episode or two and Netflix is definitely milking this as much as possible.

This did not need 3 seasons. With how it ends, it feels like there are 3, maybe 4 episodes worth of content left. I dont know why Netflix didnt just label this as Season 2A and have 2B next year. I hope they dont unnecessarily stretch it out

It felt like they had a 10 episode season and decided to split it and just used this episode bc it was a highpoint of action. I see it concluding in 3 episodes and an epilogue episode. Im almost certain season 3 will be shorter than 7
they probably labeled it as season 2 for a season 3 next years for marketing purposes. the same reason Disney changed the title of Av4 from Infinity War part 2 to Endgame.

when my wife and I were in the middle of the season, I remarked that I didn't like how some of the episodes ended abruptly in the middle of the games. after attending a Christmas party this weekend, someone else said the reason for that is because this season was designed to be binged.

season 1 did do it, but not as much as this season did. I feel like it could just be a manager at Netflix giving the showrunners an executive order on how some things have to be.

As it should. I rarely watch new Netflix originals anymore. I still remember how big it was in 2021.

well, that's good news. not only is it a much smaller wait time between seasons 1 & 2, but it's less than a year between seasons 2 & 3

the tweet was deleted...which either means that it's true and they're tryna stop the leak, or it is false and they don't wanna look bad putting out wrong information

I think it was a tweet about Leonardo DiCaprio appearing at some point in Season 3.

June seems so long from now. But 6 months is nothing compare to the 3 year wait we had between season 1 and 2.

I wonder how long the season would be. I hope it is at least 7 episodes. 3 to 6 episodes would be too short for a final season. There are still plenty of characters left.

Just finished it. Overall, I really liked it and I’m looking forward to the conclusion. Some parts did feel like a bit of a retread but luckily they did enough new and interesting stuff that it still felt pretty fresh.

A few notes…

I liked the bit of insight we got into the Recruiter/Salesman guy. That scene in the park and the Russian Roulette sequences showed us how insane he really was. It almost made me sad that he died because he was an interesting antagonist.

I totally knew that boat captain was in on it. He acted WAY too dumb (he’s never heard of a drone before? Come on.) and it just seemed way too suspicious that he happened to find the cop but after 2 years of searching couldn’t find the island again. The Front Man obviously had him rescue his brother and string him along.

I don’t think that one guy freaking out at the end was ever actually a marine. He seemed way too cowardly throughout the whole season. Maybe it’s just PTSD, but I think he just hit the tattoo to make people think he’s was a marine.

No idea where things go from here. I guess they will finish the games with the survivors, but would they really just act as if the attempted revolution never happened? Would they just re-insert Gi-hun?

I Rewatched season 1 last month and I forgot about the
VIPs, their clients who are watching the games and I'm assuming gambling on it. So there has to be a show for those people and continuing the games would also serve as a punishment to those participated in the rebellion. I don't think killing them right away would be enough for those people behind the games. They want to be entertained.

as for Gi hun, he acted like he was shot when talking to the lead character, so he is definitely not playing again in those games.
