Mystery/Thriller Squid Game

Its for the livestream of the VIPs :o. Better camera angles.

Finish watching it. I'm sorry but this is not Season 2 it's Season2A. "Next season" is not season 3 it's Season2B. Anyway, overall i enjoyed it. But the Finale(part 1 finale) was a let down.

It's not the series' fault. They wanted to do a 15-episode 2nd and final season, but Netflix obligated them to split it into 7 and 8 eps "season 2" and "season 3" respectively.

Take with a grain of salt, but I could believe this.

There's no need for an American spin off imo. Let it end next month.

I think Gi-hun had too much hero complex and by the end of season 3 it was just a battle of egos between him and In-ho. he didn't care to protect the lives of the X players on that night of terror because he thought prioritizing rebellion was more important.

Just quick general thoughts, but I'm spoiler tagging to be sure.

I really enjoyed season 3. Incredibly tense and heavy material, but I loved how this was put together. Squid Game is a special show, and I'm so glad it wasn't needlessly dragged on season after season but instead given the dignity and thematic intensity it deserves. I'll be thinking about it for quite some time.

I didn't like how the show ended.

Lots of main characters were killed in the 2nd/3rd episode. And the season peaked in those episodes, which left the final two episodes kinda underwhelming. I totally didn't care about the female guard who helped one of the players.

and Cate Blanchett, appearing in this, added to the long list of things of her projects I've already seen.

It wasn't a perfect ending but I mostly loved this season and honestly it's easily my favorite of the three seasons eventhough this wasn't a real Season 3 but more of a part 2 or a continuation of Season 2.

The CGI baby was distracting at first but I began to get use to it and the finale was a bit underwhelming and unsatisfying but man did I get pretty emotional during the deaths of Cho Hyun-ju, Jang Geum-ja, Kang Sae-byeok and Seong Gi-hun which was the most surprising IMO but it definitely felt earned.

I also wanted way more of a payoff with Lee Byung-hun's character and that whole relationship with his brother but I get a feeling he will definitely show up again in either a spinoff show or a movie if Netflix continues to milk this franchise going forward.

Also, the Cate Blanchett cameo was pretty interesting and makes me wonder if she will show up in the Fincher version.
