I was going to quit this poll buisness and the call for my ending it was cute but since i got eleven votes well i changed my mind. I do however promise to post more better polls. The reason i am back is because the 8.000 or whatever amount mad em realize i can do better and so thank you who ever created the poll. You inspired me to continue with more polls but i also plann non poll posts.
Anywho this thread is to see what everyones favorite Star Trek movie is.
Movie trilogy polls are so much easier to do.
I myslef like all movies but Nemesis. That was real snorfest. Do give me a few moments to post the poll please.

OMG how could you leave out Star Trek 2??!@ crapp poll!!!11 :cmad:

I just did post the poll and Star Trek 2 is on there and its my vote for favorite Trek movie.

Well the poll wasnt on there before (or didnt appear when I looked at the thread) so nevermind...:csad:

Anyway, yes ST2 is the best, followed by First Contact, Voyage Home, and Undiscovered Country.

Dude, this is just like "What's your favorite Star Wars movie". Pointless. There's no way the second one won't win.

Actually if you take out your DVD's and watch them again, you may be surprised at just how terrible they all are, but Khan at least has some fire.

How come there's no "They all blow. Oh and every Star Trek TV series, book and thing sucks as well" option?

And what's the point of adding, "Or Could It Be Star Trek 11 With J.J Abrams Directing."

That's not an answer. Sure, it's within the realms of possibility, but you can't vote a movie that has never been made, does not even have a script, as the best. That's just silly.

A better poll would be what is the worst Star Trek movie? I'd say Generations because of the huge disappointment, but Insurrection is the absolutely worst of all time and when my friend and I saw it in the theater, we did nothing but heckle it. It was nothing more than a bad, two hour TNG episode.

That's EVERY TNG movie. At least Insurrection was trying to do something different, and didn't do any raping like Worst Contact did (and tried to do during production).

You can't seriously say Insurrection was worse than Attack Of The Clones...er, Nemesis, can you?

Yes, I can. Nemesis was bad, but not in a "so bad, it's virtually camp" kinda way.

And how can you honestly say Insurrection tried to do anything different? Data breaking down, Work having social difficulty, etc. not to mention the fact that the movie uses the same premise as a TNG episode. Its ALL things we've seen sooo many times before to the point where its a TNG cliche. Its easily the least creative or original ST movie ever.

I can look at these movies from a pure general public standpoint and not a Trek fan, and I have to say First Contact works very well as a straight, race-against-time, Aliens-esque sci-fi thriller. It has enough darkness and creepy imagery to distance itself from the other movies, and the Picard/Ahab stuff is terrific from Patrick Stewart. It really doesn't feel like an extended TV show, which Insurrection really does.

The Wrath of Khan and Generations are the only two that I enjoy; the rest aren't really necessary.

Nemesis wasn't campy? Dune buggy chase, clones galor, indestructable space ship shootouts....and as much if not more rehash of TNG cliche as Insurreciton.

Insurrection had villains who weren't bent on some domination of the universe plan, and were considerable shades of gray:it's the brightest point (and also the lowest for not being well explored) of the story, the "when does it become wrong" angle. Being on a survival run on the planet surface? New territory there-we've had ships held hostage/hiding.

Not really. The biggest issue was the Prime Directive, and the pros and cons of having to adhere to it, as well as what happens when something (or someone) goes against the Prime Directive. THAT was what I was talking about, not some planet survival crap. And THAT is what we've seen time and time again. Besides, how many times have the TNG beamed down to inhospitable planet surfaces? Many.

Insurrection was an elongated bad Next Generation episode, nothing more. It wasn't exciting or original or well-written or fresh or anything. First Contact on the other hand was all of those things, and much more. It truly was an adventure and really made good use of the characters.

Also, if I remember correctly, the "bad guys" were trying to save the planet for their own race, since they were dying. And they were going to relocate a few to save many. Didn't Spock say something along the lines of the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few? Another missed opportunity for that truly lacking film.

Nemesis was more enjoyable than Insurrection anyway, despite the fact that it was indeed a sadly bad sendoff for the TNG crew.

I think Star trek 2 was the best followed by the voyage home.

The word camp is losing all meaning on these boards.

Most people say, 'camp' when they mean, 'kitsch'.

Camp is only ever done deliberately. Camp is self-knowing.

First Contact and Wrath of Khan are the only two that deserved to be made. :csad:

First Contact=fresh and well written? Unoriginal Aliens like premise, plot/logic holes large enough to fly a Galaxy class starship through, and the total reaming of the concept of Borg.

Plus, even though it didn't happen afterall, the knowledge that the producers wanted to make Zefram Cochran a black woman gives me the urge to strangle. An INTENTIONAL **** up like that....!

My Top 5:

- Star Trek: First Contact.
- Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
- Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
- Star Trek V: The Undiscovered Country.
- Tie between VI and maybe Generations.

Urge to strangle because Cochran ended up being a guy or the fact that she could've been a black woman? :down

Urge to strangle because she could have been a black woman, despite having been established 30 years prior as a white guy. Urge to strangle over the offensive racial checklist mindset that so many people have.
