This is awesome. It means that by the time my 3-month-old daughter is old enough to enjoy DisneyWorld, it will likely contain Star Wars-related rides and such. Kids can buy Mickey ears, Daddy gets a Darth Vader helmet.

Disney logo wasn't in front of Avengers, just Paramount and Marvel Studios.

Then i doubt it will be in front of star wars. Could be cool. Black screen, lucasfilm logo shimmers onto screen, "a long time ago..." boom star wars fanfare. Im ok with the loss of the fox fanfare.

The hell they are.

The first trilogy had a couple that I'd count as "real". Well, realistic, I should say.

I.e. in a way that it seems believable.

No one is doing fancy somersaults though.

the OT weren't realistic...unless you thing old OBI wan spinning in ANH is realistic.

Pretty realistic for a 70 years old man. Not for a jedi but for an old man it was realistic.

WB was in front of Clone Wars, so I'm kind of figuring without Fox distributing, Disney will indeed step-up with their logo. Maybe a fade-in, fade-out logo, rather than the whoe castle fireworks thing they have going now.

Was the disney logo in front of avengers? If disney didnt place it at the beginning of the Avengers i doubt they will do it to star wars.

Last I heard there's some sort of deal that will expire after "Iron Man 3"

http://marvel-movies.wikia.com/wiki/Thor:_The_Dark_World

"Thor 2" will be the first movie with the Disney logo

http://marvel-movies.wikia.com/wiki/Thor:_The_Dark_World

This is expected to be the first Marvel film to include the Disney logo at the beginning, as The Avengers and Iron Man 3 are both expected to have the Paramount logo based on the original five-movie deal between Marvel and Paramount that was made following Iron Man before Disney bought the distribution rights to those two films from Paramount after the Marvel acquisition by Disney.

Well color me corrected.

In this case, i hope they go with a more subtle quick logo. I miss the old live action logo they used on Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. It was just an illuminated logo. Quick and to the point

Funnily enough that's never crossed my mind before but now you mention it, it would be cool to see.

Most definitely. It's cool, it's something we have never seen before and in my head it is definitely badass.

I don't think it has to be as far as everyone in the OT being dead, but maybe a future story that isn't, centered in the OT characters and what happened to them. Sure, Luke and Leia and Han Solo are probably Important figureheads/mentors, but this would not be their story(or their kid's hopefully).

Agreed.

This being Star Wars, they're gonna need a reason for a galaxy to go to war. I'm excited to see what they're gonna do with the story without retreading what's been done before.

Will they go with remnants of the Empire or a new enemy altogether? Should the Sith be involved?

I think Disney tends to change the castle for movies this big...hence the digital logo for Tron and the Pirate-ish logo that became the updated version. I would expect to see a Star Wars-esque castle for this.

I really wish they would show the Old Republic and sith's reemergence to power and their war with the Old Republic.

Id like to see a bounty hunter movie down the road too. The criminal underworld of the star wars universe could be cool.

Going back to the past would be awesome. I'd love to see The Old Republic where the Sith's rule of two have yet to take effect and Darth Plagueis' rise to power.

But seeing as this is being called Episode 7, I doubt they will be going that route. :(

If they don't involve at least one of the OT characters it won't be much of a continuation of the Saga. I mean, the Saga proper is the story of the Skywalkers. With Luke set with the burden of re-establishing the Jedi Order from scratch... that could make for a pretty cool movie. Shift focus to a new character, which I would personally hope would be Ben Skywalker, and go from there. Probably won't happen if the story treatment is GL's and he's on record saying in his mind Luke never marries and never has a kid. You can come up with any number of reasons for war... the Empire's remnants could still be around, it's also a vast galaxy so who knows what's lurking out there. It's actually hard to imagine where they could go for 7-9 without taking a heavy dose of post-ROTJ EU... which had the New Republic mopping up the Imperial Remnant for almost 20 years.

Yeah but down the road maybe. Gotta keep the hope alive.:) Imagine seeing Koriban on screen and the Sith together and their councils. God gets me excited just thinking about it.

:up::up::up:

With Disney promising a Star Wars movie every other year, there is definitely hope of seeing a "Star Wars: The Old Republic Saga" become reality.

That's because of the deal between Paramount and Disney about Disney taking over the distribution rights for the Avengers and Iron Man 3. Alongside with paying them the 8% they would have gotten for distributing the films, Paramount was to be given credit over Disney. All Marvel Studios films from Thor: The Dark World on will have the Disney logo over them.

With Star Wars however, there was no distribution deal already in place for Episode VII like there was for Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Avengers, and Iron Man 3. It's a straight up Disney production, so it's very unlikely that the Disney will not show up.

Shall we take this to the new star wars section?

I imagine that Disney will treat the logo the way they treated it with Tron Legacy by giving it a minor update to reflect the movie.

I also bet it won't use the typical "Wish upon a star" music either. Like many films Paramount, WB, Fox, there have been intros that are altered, and the music muted. Or using their own sound effects ect.

If anyone recalls there was no Disney logo in front of the 2003 Pirates of the Carribbean movie as well. I think partly because it was the first PG-13 movie released under the Walt Disney Pictures banner.

They don't have Star Wars stuff at DisneyWorld? They've had it at DisneyLand for years.
