I’m hearing that Matthew Vaughn, the director of Kick-Ass, Stardust, Layer Cake, and X-Men: First Class, is in talks with Lucasfilm to helm Star Wars: Episode VII. My sources tell me this is the main reason he dropped out of the X-Men sequel (which Bryan Singer is now directing).

From here on out Hayden needs to stay as far from the franchise as possible. Not only for his acting being equivalent to a 2x4, but because he has too much of a bad stigma against him for what he did in the PT.

I would rather see ghost Anakin as an adult...re-casted.

But really. I doubt it'll happen. This is supposed to be a brand new story...so I think connections to the previous films will be very slim. Possibly only Luke making his appearance.

Yeah, I love Nolan's films. TDK, Inception, and The Prestige are three of my favorite films. But I just don't see his style fitting with Star Wars. A Bond film? Maybe. Star Wars? Not really.

I know it's been mentioned in some stories but I don't think it's ever been shown. There IS a very cool fan made film though where he does kill a bunch of Jedi's but like I said, it's just fan made.

Not sure about Boba Fett specifically but in the days of the Old Republic the Mandalorians were infamous for being one of the few groups of warriors that could take on the Jedi and kill them (well, some of them). As such a fight between Boba Fett and a Jedi would maybe be even, which is probably why in the prequels Lucas had Jango Fett give Obi-Wan such a hard time.

Yes of course, during KOtor they were a real threat to the Jedi and judging by the prequels then Boba should have no problem taking down a Jedi or two.

I'm a big fan of Nolan, but I would never consider him for a SW movie. Not saying he couldn't do it, but there are much better choices for the style.

Uhhh people are already doing that, Whedon talk on Star Wars has been more so. Around these boards it's either Whedon or Nolan. I find it very hypocritical, when Sam was on top, or Bryan everyone recommended them, it has been Nolan for a while now it's becoming Whedon for everything. It's just the nature of the beast.

I bet top dollar nolan is done directing franchise adaptations. He's trying to cement his own role as a director he can't do that by being the go to guy for licensed properties.

It's not happening. Bond is a long shot as well due to how much control eon will have to giver over to him. I love nolan's work so i want to see more of Nolan's work.

Exactly. I want to see him make more films like Memento and Inception.

Ideally...I would want Spielberg to handle it. But Vaughn could work...IF he can capture the same feel of the original trilogy.
