Josh Trank, so he can pull out of the FF reboot and Fox will have no choice but to let the rights revert back to Marvel. :word::up:

Yeah, Fox is hurtin now! I wonder if MS will get benefits from Lucasfilm. Maybe more bucks equals just straight up buying FF and X-Men and giving them to MS, or the use of characters? Disney is growing to a even bigger empire of money with Marvel and Lucasfilm on their side.

Story by Lucas, written by someone else and directed by someone else. That's how TESB was done. :awesome:

And look how that turned out! One of the greatest movies of all time I say!

Why stop there, just remake ROTJ, as well.

That is not and should never happen.
Hide from the ewoks and their wrath if something like that happens, that's all i'm gonna say :oldrazz: :hehe:

Please no more talk of Carrie Fisher returning.. I believe that when I see it.

God, I'm so happy about this. This is so good for the Star Wars franchise!

The franchise has a secure future ahead & we get more movies! I can't even believe that there's going to be another Star Wars movie, this is so surreal!

How all 3 of the original films were done (minus Lucas directing the first along with Kurtz). The main reason why they were so much better than the prequels.

Episode III was ten times better than ROTJ ever was.

...I....I just....I can't...

....yeah. Well, that's an interesting opinion, but I can't say that I'd share it. ROTJ is my least favorite of the OT, but I still rank it quite a bit above E3. Hayden was just not a very good actor.

I rank ROTS above ROTJ. ROTJ was just ugh. When i was a kid i liked it but it hasnt aged well for me. Now the only part i like is the emperors throne room showdown.

He was fine in episode iii. The weakest performance in that movie is Portman.

But the Ewoks?

Not jar-jar bad, but terrible.

Thats why its so awesome, that showdown. ITS A TRAP!, the big Death Star II attack was awesome. It did drag at parts, especially the on Endor stuff and Jabba's Palace. But I love it.

But the Ewoks?

Loved em as a kid. Now i realize what they are: budget friendly wookies. Lucas wanted to include wookies and kashyyk and did in some of the early preproduction work but he couldnt do it on film so we got ewoks and endor.

ROTJ just doesnt hold up for me. I never liked the Jabba palace stuff even as a kid. The film drags in the middle and I dont care for the ewoks. I love the sail barge, the emporor showdown, and the attack run on the death star. Usually when i watch the film those are the parts i watch.

Yah, and Lucas is the creator of that universe, clearly that was an advantage when it came to getting the PT made. No one knows SW like he does. Even when it came to the OT he stepped in and helped both directors to get things back on track. Watching how these movies were made.... just seems like a different beast than other movies. And believe me, Disney doesnt want to mess it up. You dont want a bunch of SW whiny fans on ur back complaining lol (and no matter how good 7, 8 and 9 are there will be complaints... you know it and i know it lol)

LOTR were based off famous books and were shot at the same time. If they do that here, it might make it easier for 8 and 9. This is all my opinion, naturally, and therefore not fact.

As far as directors go? hmmm. Not Nolan lol. I could see Abrams do it beautifully, but he's busy with ST, so i dunno bout him, at least for episode 7. Wait, do u think they will hire one director for all three movies, or will they go with different ones each time? I do think there's a bunch of directors fighting for that job tonight haha

Honestly I think there are fans that know Star Wars better than him. lol. Just like there are Tolkien fans that know it better than him. Trust me this is more than enough time.

Yeah...I mean, he was better, but he still just wasn't very good. In his defense, the dialogue wasn't very good either, because Lucas wrote it all himself. But still, I just dont like watching the guy.

Either way, I don't mean to drag this into a PT vs OT thing which has happened countless times. So, what do you guys think the odds are on getting Harrison back for the new films?

This is probably the single biggest entertainment news I've ever heard in my life. Was not expecting this coming home from work. Truly amazing.

I wouldn't mind seeing cameos from Hamill, Fisher and Ford for the 7th movie.

Harrison has been tired of Han Solo since ESB. Its the reason Ford tried/begged Lucas to kill him in ESB. Im not sure Ford will ever come back to star wars.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought. However, I'm sure if they threw enough money at him he would. Or if the script was good enough. I mean, he came back for Indy 4...and it wasn't like that script was amazing.

I think if they write the movies in a way that the OT characters pass the torch to a new cast he'd comeback as Han for that

Yeah, and that's what I'd like to see them do.

Honestly, I don't mind if Disney wants to keep cranking out SW films for years to come. Bond has done it for 50 years. And sure, there have been some stinkers, but there have been some pretty freaking awesome films made too.

I think SW could be that. It has TONS of existing material to draw on, the world itself is so interesting.
