Just had the thought with Episode VII, if they do bring back Luke, Han and Leia, if they do go with the whole children thing OR basically just put the kabosh on the last 20 years of EU.

I agree with forgetting the EU. The EU were like "further adventures." This is Episode VII, VIII, & IX and should tie into one thru line, probably the Skywalker bloodline. Han & Leia should be minor supporting characters (cameos?) and Luke should be the "old Obi-Wan" role of the OT. There should be a new "big three" as the leads and at least one should be a Skywalker, either Han & Leia's kid(s) and/or Luke's kid(s). They should not be forced into Jacen, Jaina, & Anakin Solo and Ben Skywalker.

Just watching the original trilogy again. These films are still amazing!

Yeah, gonna need a strong big 3 to match up to Luke, Han & Leia. They should make the best film posssible whether that means drawing from the EU or not. Luke, Han & Leia need to be very important names (especially Luke) in this new set of films even if they aren't in it that much. I would rather each of their kids were the main characters in fact so the whole 9 films have a strong Skywalker link.

Also would be great to see something (even if by flashback) that shows why Luke Skywalker was the all time greatest Jedi.

Yeah, Im just baffled by how anyone would want to see mark hamill, carrie fisher and harrison(his age now) in lead action roles. Sure mark does voice overs but I cant remember the last time he acted in a big live action movie. I would have no problem at all if they showed mark like you said in a 20 minute max screen time role, then kill him off by the end of the first movie. Or if they handled it like they did with jeff bridges older self in tron legacy, ya know be there to guide someone but not cramp the movies style.

I've not seen Carrie Fisher in anything either. Even Harrison Ford I don't think could pull of the Han Solo vibe any more. Hamill is the most important though & he might be able to be the voice of Luke Skywalker in the 2nd & 3rd film if the character does get killed off 1st movie.

I would like to see them recast the roles of Luke,Leia and Han. It could not be easy creating the new republic. There is enough story potential right there for a new trilogy and if they choose not to go that route. Then I would rather them not include the skywalkers at all

The Breaking In Series Finale is pretty much a spoof of a New Hope & Peter Mayhew as Peter Mayhew was in the episode as well

They even had a Ray Park cameo

I vote NO for recasting. Just bring in new characters, make Luke a force ghost that appears a few times, Han and Leia are long gone dead and problem solved
