Just got my Blu Ray's in the mail. I think it's bout time for a Star Wars Marathon!!!

I have a new HDTV flatscreen arriving tomorrow. Time for another marathon here too!

Ewan McGregor was on Jonathan Ross's show just recently - I can't post the link here since there's some language, but he tells a totally hilarious story about filming the green screen stuff for the last scene in ROTS. Definitely look it up if you get the chance. :funny:

For some reason, I really liked the last episode of CW. It had some cutesy moments, but it felt like a cartoon from the '90s. I demand a new 3PO & R2 show! :D

Just started Episode III. It looks pretty good on blu ray. The Episodes I and II didn't really wow. Episode I looked kind of dated and sad IMO. I don't think I've got it in me to do all six films tonight. The original trilogy is getting saved for tomorrow. It'll be a good way to kill time while waiting for Arkham City to arrive in the mail.

Who could see a new Star Wars movie possibly trilogy moving past the story of the Skywalkers and perhaps even the Jedi to be made? Why not explore the life of Some former stormtroopers drafted into the Imperial Starfleet having to become bounty hunters in order to survive the transition following the Battle of Endor?

I can't imagine Star Wars without Jedi . However when the tv show was announced it was said to focus on everyday tatooine citizens, IIRC. Also some fans want to see Boba Fett spinoff. So it may happen.

I saw that one, made me laugh my butt off. Ewan just seems like the most fun guy to interview lol.

I can be harsh on this...but it's only because I care. :D
The point is my dear, you dont have to be harsh. Remember that crazy fanboys goes both ways: haters (because they think they are the only ones "smart" enough to distinguish what's good and what isnt) and lovers (because they dont see SW isnt perfect, and it never was to begin with) :cwink:

8wid: it would be weird to me to see something SW and not see jedi in some way. I think the Force was such a prominent force (lol sorry) in the saga that it would be strange not seeing it addressed. It could be perfectly done past the Skywalkers though, and of course there's so many characters to explore that i wouldnt be against seeing stormtroopers gone bounty hunters :woot:

If they made more Star Wars movies I'd personally still want Jedi in them, I'd go with Anakin Solo as the next great Jedi, and of course have Boba Fett in it as opposed to a Boba Fett individual movie.

I'd go for an older Boba, grizzled style, played by Stephen Lang! :D

This piece arrived today, I got an excellent deal on it. :D

Rumor has it Sam Witwer is voicing Darth Maul on Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Just started the DVD of Clone Wars season 3 (yes I'm behind). Loved the THX 1138 reference in the 1st episode! The animation on the show is fantastic!

lol this is a funny ad

'Star Wars' and 'Thor' Mark a Dramatic Surge in Blu-ray Sales
Tue Oct 18, 2011 at 01:00 PM ET Hi-def digest
Physical media was also up for the first time in a while thanks to the pair of releases.

It's not that Blu-ray is struggling, the format is actually selling quite nicely. It's just that Blu-ray isn't doing what investors and backers would like to see, they want it to absolutely dominate the market. (What's new, right?) In September, that's just what it did.

The researchers over at iSuppli show that in the week that 'Star Wars' and 'Thor' were released on Blu-ray, sales of the format were up 131 percent over the year before. Keep in mind, 'Star Wars' was released on a Friday, so it only got to contribute a bit. The next week, Blu-ray sales were up 156 percent compared to last year.
There's no question about the reason for the increase, but there is something significant to be looked at in terms of the re-release of those blockbuster titles. If sales of Blu-ray players increased likewise with the Blu-ray disc sales, big catalog releases could mean very good things for the industry.
It should also be noted that physical media as a whole - DVDs and Blu-ray Discs - was up one percent in the third week of September. It may not sound like much, but that's the first time the number has been positive in quite a while.

I'm never going to be able to watch that scene in Episode III the same way again now. :lmao:

Exactly. I think everyone here is in agreement that prequel trilogy had a lot of issues. It's been discussed openly here, and the only time anyone is bashed for it is when someone thinks their opinion is the "definitive" one, when there's really no such thing.

Good news on Thor. Great movie. I haven't been watching the Clone Wars and I probably should. Its been a while since I've done a Star Wars marathon and am not getting the Saga on blueray. why? its too much. GL keeps making un-necessary changes and he will never stop and we all know that. The other reason is that I don't have a tv and a blueray player. Eventually, I'll get one but not b/c of SW.

If a creator makes changes to his own work how is it unnecessary?

Well he keeps making them over and over and then re-releases them like how many times?? I'm just saying, there were some changes that he made with the scene of Han shooting first. Then theres the Noooooo that was used during the scene when Vader throws the Emperor down the death star's shaft but I hope that is just a rumor. There are parts that I liked with what he did like making Mos Eisley bigger than how we saw it in the original.

Okay, but they are his films. If he wants to add to them, that's his right as an "artist".

Yes I know its his films, but why change them so much when a lot of fans loved the originals when they were first released??

Wouldn't those fans already own the versions they like? He continues to change them because despite the small-but-vocal fan base that doesn't care for them, they still sell. Personally, I don't care for any of Lucas' films and thus choose to just read the books. After all the years that he has been adding to and re-releasing these films, did anyone honestly expect him not to do it this time?

or maybe he doesnt feel right releasing a movie on Blu ray that is exactly the movie you already own

This man speaks the truth. Attack me, I don't care. He's on the money.

Kurtz? He ran ESB way over budget, forcing GL to have to go to Fox for money, and helped lead to GL's nervous breakdown. I'd canned him too. Then he did the same thing with The Dark Crystal. Guy just cannot get a big effects movie done on budget. Anything he says about Lucas or SW is just sour grapes. Everyone knows that.

I can not wait until he releases Star Wars with CGI Luke and Vader fights.
(you know it will happen)

;)
