Good to know the reviews are positive, but they don't completely sell me on this show, i remember the same happening with Agents of SHIELD, which didn't look very good but had an overwhelming positive reception, then it came out and it was as weak as i feared it would be.

This does have the disadvantage of on following previously extablished characters, or a lore that had been being developed for years (The Clone Wars had plentyof good stuff to tweak from the previous cartoon, comics, etc.), that timeline had a complete multimedia project that took as much care as if it was a movie, while Rebels is touching on a time that has varied from adaptation to adaptation, so it will have a rougher start.

I'll give ithe benefit of the doubt and see how it can do in half a season.

Ben Burtt's sound design is one the things I enjoy most about the Saga, so I agree completely! It's great being taken back to the audio gold of tie fighters and speeder bikes!

Without a doubt, I don't think there is any movie series that has more iconic, or is more identifiable, by it's sound design than Star Wars.

This has Filoni behind it though. To me that is more then anything else. The man knows SW, and makes great stories. The reviews have not just been "meh" I don't remember positive reviews for Agents, there were some, but most word I heard right away was "meh". This seems to have more behind it in terms of people being impressed.

Before it came out, all the reviews for Agents of SHIELD were overwhelmingly positive, though the fact that it was all from the "geek crowd" made me a bit suspicious. As i said, the previews and what i see doesn't look very good to me, but can't completely judge a product i haven't seen yet.

I really liked Agents of SHIELD since the beginning and it just got better as it progressed, especially after the Winter Soldier cross over.

And despite my concerns about the look of Rebels, of course I'll watch, since it's still the basic Clone Wars crew!

Incredibly debatable to say the least.

That reminds me of the fantastic tv spot they had for the blu ray release, entitled "Every Moment". Nothing sounds like Star Wars.

Everything is debatable. But I think over a course of 6 years Dave did pretty well and got better as seasons went on. I think he will do even more so with this.

Yeah, I don't know why people are doubting this show. Filoni basically had a test run in Clone Wars, with figuring everything out and if anything, this will be 10 steps above CW. Should be an amazing show.

Hell she could stand in the middle of the base, whistle and let them all shoot at her at once while mooning them, and they STILL wouldn't be able to hit her. They suck that much.

"Art Attack" - the full short featuring Sabine:

lol...accuracy has never exactly been their strong suit, has it?

Nope, they couldn't hit a Gundark with a rocket launcher! :D

Love it! The Stormie's used the term "Mando." I think that is the first time I've heard the abbreviation in any of the live action or animated Star Wars.

LOL!:woot: Sabine looks like she's going to be a fun character.

Yep, she is the character I am most looking forward to in the show. :boba:

Featuring the voices of Dave Filoni and Greg Weisman as Stormtroopers. I wonder if the third guy was Simon Kinberg?

That was awful. The other two clips they've released showed promise and now they give us this... ugh.

Press release:

STAR WARS REBELS: SPARK OF REBELLION PREMIERES FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

Continuing the epic tradition of the legendary Star Wars saga, an exciting animated one-hour movie Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion is set to premiere Friday, October 3 (9:00 p.m. ET/PT in the US) on Disney Channels around the world, ushering in the highly anticipated series Star Wars Rebels on Disney XD. In the US, Star Wars Rebels episodes will debut Monday nights beginning Monday, October 13 (9:00 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney XD. Worldwide, the series will air in 33 languages across 163 countries in over 400 million households.

Leading up to its global television debut, Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion will be available on Disney Channel SVOD and to verified users beginning Monday, September 29, on WATCHDisneyXD.com and the WATCH Disney XD app.

Set between the events of Star Wars: Episodes III and IV, the story unfolds during a dark time when the evil Galactic Empire is tightening its grip of power on the galaxy. Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet and are ruining the lives of its people. The motley but clever crew of the starship Ghost — cowboy Jedi Kanan, ace pilot Hera, street-smart teenager Ezra, the “muscle” Zeb, warrior firebrand Sabine, and cantankerous old astromech droid Chopper — is among a select few who are brave enough to stand against the Empire. Together, they will face threatening new villains, encounter colorful adversaries, embark on thrilling adventures, and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion.

At the Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion Fan Event at San Diego Comic-Con this year, the movie garnered rave reviews from fans who found the story and look akin to the classic trilogy of films. The series’ designs are influenced by the work of original Star Wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie.

Star Wars Rebels is created by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Sherlock Holmes), and Carrie Beck. The Lucasfilm Animation production is also executive-produced by Filoni and Kinberg as well as Greg Weisman (Gargoyles).

The talented voice cast includes Freddie Prinze Jr. as Kanan, Vanessa Marshall as Hera, Steve Blum as Zeb, Tiya Sircar as Sabine, Taylor Gray as Ezra, David Oyelowo as Agent Kallus, and Jason Isaacs as the Inquisitor.

Very cool :woot:. I'll have to check my Disney channel and mark my calendar.

I can't say that I'm enthused about the Monday night timeslot for Rebels. It'll be going up against Monday Night Football, The Voice, Dancing With The Stars and Monday Night Raw.
