Okay, new character!

Drax

What do you think of him? Do you like the new version of the character, or the old dumb version better? Which costume do you like more? etc...


Personally, I found him amusing during the infinity stuff as a dummy, but characters like that get old to me pretty quick. But this newer version of him on the other hand I just found boring, and plain stupid when he ripped out thanos heart with his bare hands. Thanos is this cosmic mega threat, but woops, I guess that's only cuz everyone forgot that his chest is made of tissue paper! Lame.
Not to mention having his only weapons be two regular knives from earth that happen to cut through super durable alien flesh like tissue paper is also ridiculous. Looks cool though, I'll give him that.

Drax ripped out Thanos' heart because Drax was specifically engineered to kill Thanos by Thanos' dad.

Anyway... Drax is ****ing awesome. Was the ultimate bad ass mudda in Annihilation, helping Nova become the great leader during the war. And fighting his way through about a thousand bugs to get to Thanos.

Drax is fantastic. I liked his mini just prior to Annihilation and have loved him ever since. I liked that look as well, though what he changed it into during the Thanos Imperative was just dumb looking. His killing Thanos was neat and I was willing to suspend belief on the tissue chest thing because of his being engineered for that job specifically.

I never really got into the Infinity Watch all that much but Drax never really impressed me as a character back then.

Love Drax He rocks! as mentioned before, how cool is it that he was engineered to kill Thanos and given that Thanos is a bad mother shut yo mouth . Drax had to be equally as awesome. The only thing i didnt like was Moondragon was his kid, since i cant stand that bald headed &^%$ but Draxy is awesome and i love the big dumb purple version..(i am sure that version wasn't dark enough for alotta people..so sue me!) big and dumb rocks!

yeah I've heard that before but what the heck is that even supposed to mean? Does he emanate radiation that weakens Thanos at the microscopic level? Does it mean Drax grew extra sharp fingernails so he could pierce Thanos' chest? I get the impression from the issue that it was shown that Drax was simply strong enough to basically punch a whole in Thanos' chest, which is bullcrap based on what I've seen of previous showings of Drax's strength and Thanos' durability.

If they'd wanted to let him kill him, at least give a plausible way and reason. And hey, maybe explain what is meant by "genetically engineered to kill one of the most bad*@$ dudes in the universe".

lol yea that is basically what happened. Didn't you read Annihilation? If not, shame on you! As Drax was getting closer to Thanos he had some aura/radiation around him which allowed him to penetrate Thanos' shields and his hands turned into claws of some kind. You do kinda have to suspend your disbelief, but it was still an awesome scene.

I didnt get making him Marvel Riddick, but they executed it well. Just have to find writers and use him. He needs to be featured in something because he routinely has played 2nd fiddle in stories since his annihilation pre mini.
