State your opinion a character - Part 1

My all time favorite X-Man, and one of my overall favorite characters! He is hands down the coolest looking character in comics history. If you disagree I will fart on your soul.

As for why I love him, originally it was his look. When I first saw him I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Over the years I grew to love his persona as the quiet guy since that used to be me in school. I really think that Alan Davis captured what his personality should be like during his brief run on Uncanny. I loved it when he went on that road trip with Marrow. It showed how he thinks instead of just having him as the Russian who talks funny and punches people. Colossus is an artist, so he should be that guy who is something of a philosopher. That's just how artists are. Right or wrong they always have some interesting things to say. lol He shouldn't be some uber smart guy like Beast, but he should be a guy who is calm and wise. He should look at things from different angles, but they don't really develop this because the editors of the X-Men are people with no imagination at all.

totally totally agree man!! i saw this as a kid

thought it was and still is one of the best scenes in comic history! with my boy cracking the steel. i dont know what made Dave Cockrum come with the striations in his skin, but that &^%$ is off the chain.. so you dont have to pass flatulence on my eternal soul.:cwink:

But by doing that, you eliminate Jan evolving as a character, from a Ditzy socialite, to a strong, independent woman and one of the Avengers all time best field leaders.

What are you, sexist!?

I thought Jan growing more mature was good for her but having Hank abuse her ruined him for me, and he was one of my favorite Avengers. Stuff like that is why I disregard Marvel from 1980-on. Well, mostly the bastardization of Cyclops (another ruined favorite of mine).

Alrighty, moving on from apparently everyone's favorite mini Avenger to....

COLOSSUS!

Love Petey Pureheart. I like my heroes super and heroic and he is plenty of both.

Honestly I' like to see him back on an Avengers team of some kind in the hopes it might show some more growth and character development. Thin he'd benefit from the change of scenery.

ahh, but then he'd most likely be written by Bendis :o

Ok, making up for what I missed:

Kitty Pryde: She started whiney in XME, then became likable. I like how she started in the comics, one of the few to start being a superhero before the age of 15. Love her in Claremonts run, same goes for Whedon's run

Wasp: She's hot. NEXT

Colossus: I wish his metal skin didn't rip his clothes. This dude has a bit of a dud in explaining his powers, if being covered by plain metal (even if it's his exo-skin) helps lifting tons I'd wear plain iron

Why iron? The Ultimate version of Colossus kinda tried to explore his powers more and it was just frustratingly horrible.

I'm not too sure about this whole Juggernaut thing. I think Gillen should just drop it.

It's like giving Superman, Mxyzptlk's powers. :o

Overkill.

always has been my favorite x-men and always will be. i don't read x-men regularly anymore and haven't for awhile but every once and awhile I'll pick up an issue to see what they are doing to my boy.

Why iron?
The first metal to come to mind

OK, nice to not read UXM then

It rips his clothes?
At least in the early days it was, he got larger in size and that helped him escape the trap Doom placed him in, don't know about it now

Colossus is awesomeish. Cool look and powers. Writers tend to make him really mopey, which is annoying. I'd like to see him step away from the X-Men for awhile. Join the Avengers or something.

Forgot to post that i'm on a work trip. Somebody else can feel free to post a new character today and tomorrow :)
Look on a page 1 for a list of who was already done

It's been nicely over 24 hours, so

Best Iron Man villain by far, and IM has a great rogues gallery. It's a shame political correctness has kept him out of the movies so far, if that is what it is.

He was fun to play in the Marvel RPG back in the day. Basically he has 10 superpowers. Take that Green Lantern!

They could take away his political thing and turn him to a business man trying to force his way to buy Stark International, much like Obie did in the comics, but keep him Chinese with delusions of grandeur
