ULTIMATE RICK JONES/NOVA

Eh...by the time he came along, I was strictly reading Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, and he never showed up there.

I remember him showing up a few times but most of the UU was so meh to me he never made an impact.

Sajani is the only one of these last few characters I know anything about. And she's a pretty good addition to the Spidey mythos, being the only one willing to call Peter out on all the crap he pulls, business wise.

Ummm he actually debuted in Ultimate Spider-man back when Ice-man and Johhny Storm were living with Peter. They turn him into a really good character later on with the hunger mini where the gha lak tus swarm meged with our galactus. It was a pretty cool story and rick really came into his own there and even became captain marvel.

Rick Jones may have eventually popped-up in some Spider-Man arc in Ultimate that one time, but he originated in Ultimate Origin, which was followed up in other Ultimate event books I had no interest to read. So in order to actually know why Rick was this Nova-powered character, I had to read other stuff outside of Spider-Man. Which by this point, I was NOT reading anything outside of USM.

I didn't even know Sajani was a featured character in this thread. Because boy oh boy do I hate her. She's one of those characters you're supposed to hate, so for once I can't blame Dan Slott's bad writing for making a character terrible. She may call Peter out on being an idiot (only because Slott mishandles Peter so badly) but she's a hypocrite because she PURPOSELY and INTENTIONALLY creates problems and plots against her friends. That's why I hate her. Calling others on out on their problems while playing everyone else and being an antagonist herself? Sajani, kiss my ass! The Geoffry Baratheon of the Spider-Man cast right here.

I think everthing about Silvermane is just... Sorry he is sigh inducing.

The greatest thing Silvermane ever did was have his head attached to a robot car in Superior Foes.

You didn't like it when he got de-aged, beat up the Lizard then got turned into a baby? :p The only thing I really remember about him is from the 90's cartoon. :p

In the comics he became younger, got more powerful, punched Spider-Man to say "fall down, darn you" to hear Spidey say "your fist does not pack enough force for that".
In certain ways, the cartoon made better things for that story.

I dug these guys. As I 90's kid I enjoyed the characters, even if I didn't read a lot of the books. I was working on plans to do custom action figures for the whole team, back when I was still making those. I also like how they were made up of characters who already existed beforehand but hadn't gotten a lot of exposure.

I remember some of their 90's books like the crossover with Thunderstrike but since they weren't mutants or Spider-Man I never got much into them. I love what Marvel did with Nova before they made him go *poof* into the Cancerverse.

Give me a RED! GIVE ME A RED!! i DIG NUKE!! he like if our own Duke gotta outta control and started tearing ^&* apart!!... i am wondering does he yeal give me a Vigara! give me a Viagra for those times when he having problems!!) and that flag tattoo across his face is insane! ^& Captain America is all about the stars and stripes but not like that!
hes cool!

I loved Nuke in Born Again but when I read him later on like in Wolverine: Origins, I found him fairly bland. So glad they put him to amazing use in [BLACKOUT]Jessica Jones.[/BLACKOUT] I did a fanboy squee of delight when they had him say "Give me a red".

For a while, i thought this guy and Bushwacker were the same character.

Born Again may be my favorite comic ever. Nuke works well there. One, it shows the unraveling of the Kingpin as his obsession takes over. Two, it makes a nice contrast with Captain America, who is basically his mirror from a different war. I agree above his appearance in [blackout]Jessica Jones[/blackout] was great. Frankly, [blackout]I didn't expect it to be handled as faithfully (I thought it would be like Masked Marauder - in name only).[/blackout]

New Warriors: Never read, but that's a cool team.

Nuke: Great in Born Again, haven't seen him anywhere else and still have to watch Jessica Jones.

Anna Watson: She's worth something for bringing Peter and MJ together, I guess?

I liked Nuke in the recent Captain America book with Steve before he got old and replaced by Falcon.

I feel like Night Thrasher needs to come back and be given a push.
