Love the Invaders, they were one of the first Marvel series I ever read, along with Spider-Man and Howard the Duck.

same here kuro

the freakin Vaders rock hard man! annnnnddd they are probably the only team that Namor joined to make any sense!!( &^%$ that Xmen crap) you could just see Cap saying listen "Pointy ears if Hilter defeats us there will be goose stepping fish reading Mein Kampf next!!" So you better get your swim trunks in order!")... well quite not like that but you get the pic! and it's freakin Cap!!! man! i would follow Cap to the gates of Hades Baby! the Vaders are a 10 on the rocktor scale!

I like Cable for the messianic stuff. Forget about his convoluted parentage and the ridiculousness of most of his visual designs and remember that this is a dude who got sent to the future, only to find it in such ruin that he decided to return to the past and do everything in his power to ensure that his future never comes to pass. I mean, yeah, they used exactly the same backstory for Bishop, but that's neither here nor there. It's a decent sci fi backstory, and when writers have had Cable really embrace the messianic overtones, it's worked pretty well. See Cable & Deadpool, the Joe Casey stuff, etc.

I used to read some of his solo stuff back in the 90s and Cable was pretty good in that when he was devoted to his messiah mission of destroying Apocalyse with Blaquesmith as his own personal Yoda.

He was fine as a Kyle Reese/John Connors type character at the time but other than that I don't really care.

I bored by the annoying angst of the Summers family. I wish they would just get over themselves.

Are we still on about cable? He sucks, get over it. Yes messed up future super soldier blah, blah, blah. You know what? When Image started with all it's nonsense even they spoofed on how crappy cable was. So Image at it's craptastic was making fun of how ridiculous cable and his massive gun (which obviously was needed to compensate for his little gun) was. When Carrottop can legitimately mock you for being over the top it's time to hang it up.

Invaders are cool.

Cable's awesome. And his dick is only small when Liefield is drawing him, then he's just smooth down und'a.

Honest recommendation though for people that don't like Cable. Cable and Deadpool is one of the best series ever.

The bigger the cybernetic super gun the smaller the man, that's just science. There have been literally issues of him armoring up ala rambo with more and more ridiculous future guns that go on for multiple panels which makes me think the first thing the cyber virus took was his manly bits. And you said cable is awesome so your opinion counts in the way Kim Kardasian's thoughts on astrophysics count.

C and D was cool but that was 98% deadpool. But not one of the best series ever cool.

Thing I always loved about scenes like that were the fact that he'd load up with guns, they'd make a big deal about it, but when it came down to the actual fight scene you'd see him use one of them then they'd all just disappear lol.

I feel like there is unnecessary rudeness in that comment... Why does my opinion upset you so much?

Individually I like some of the Invaders, but as a team in general...eh..for some reason not so much.

I like the concept of Alpha Flight. However, I didn't like their execution by Byrne where he had them all having solo stories where they were doing their own thing instead of working as a team. It was a like an early version of "Heroes".

It was good to see them in Uncanny X-Men #139-140 where they fought Wendigo.

Also I remember the stories where it was revealed that Puck was actually a really tall guy who had much of his life essence taken from him, making him short, as well as that issue where they fought the Hulk.

Guardian didn't stay long with the team before dying. Then his wife took over as the new Vindicator.

I dig classic Alpha Flight, especially Byrnes run from the 80's. Marvel needs to reprint this so I can reread them.

Always had a soft spot in the ticker for the AF. Really enjoyed the Byrne run although I agree that I would have liked more team-focused stories back then too. I was always a little disappointed that Guardian/Vindicator had to bite it..but anyway...still a thumbs up from me at the end of the day.

Demon Possessed Sasquach VS Sasquach!Snowbird is one of my favorite fight scenes in the history of comics.

Incidentally, who owns any movie rights to Alpha Flight? Would it be Marvel or Fox (because they're related to Wolverine and the Weapon X programme, and because of two mutants in it)?

They'd be awesome if they weren't Canadian. :o

Nah, they're cool.

Sasquach is one of my favorite comic characters. So I love Alpha Flight.

I've liked some of the characters when they appear in other titles (Northstar as an X-Men for example) but I was never a fan of the team. If they could put Sasquatch or Puck on a different team in the MU that would be cool.

*Thats racist! king of the afterlife! hehe

hmmm i think marvel still have the rights since everything that has to do with Wolverine and his junk is probably with the studi but i dont think that has anything to do with AF!

AF freaking rocked like Bill said Sasquatch is one my top tier favorites( i was planning on doing him just by himself i dig him so much. only freaking Marrina form this incarnation sucked! water characters are always a bit harder to write and she was the worst!)i loved Af since Xmen #122. Squatch again was one of those dudes who revel in having power, instead of "boo hoo whoa is me! all the time" and "Shaman" being native American was the &^%!!! (if you threw a non European on a team back then i though it was cool) crazy ass Aurora, hot ass Snowbirdy and Puck! freaking awesome ass group (and like always stupid Marvel had to mess things up!) but they are a 10 on the rocktor for me!... now pass me more back bacon and salute our cousins to the north!

* actually nationalistic, but you get the pic:cwink:

I used to love me some Alpha while Byrne was doing it not so much after Guardian died. This was actually the first comic title I got serious about collecting back in the day. I remember getting pissed when Guardian kicked the bucket and wasn't a fan of Vindicator or when BOX took over for Sas.

Never gave the slightest s*** about Alpha Flight. I do like Sasquatch in general and Guardian from the Weapon X stuff, but that's about it.

I like Alpha Flight a lot. It's sad what's happened to them recently. They haven't been able to hold down an ongoing since their first. It would be nice to see them get use in the X-Men books again.
