State Your Opinion on a Character!!!! (Reboot) - Part 6

Magus is...not a terrible villain I suppose. I liked the whole In-Betweener stuff where he had to ensure Warlock would turn into him. I re-read Infinity War recently (shortly after reading the Avengers v. Thanos trade and re-reading Gauntlet), and War is really kind of blah.

There's definitely something to his desire to be more than just Adam Warlock's shadow later on. I get the sense that Gauntlet was never conceived as a trilogy (it works better as the last part rather than the first) and Jim Starlin didn't really have anything substantive left to say on Warlock, Thanos and friends.

I like the idea of the Magus and the original Starlin stories are great.

The bold I agree with a lot. Gauntlet is one of the best crossovers of it's era but the two follow up series are so "blah" it's not funny.

GWENPOOL

Never read it. May or may not bother in the future.

Gwenpool!!!seriously!! Gwenpool?!? Remember the good ole days when heroes had names like "colossus", the human torch", black bolt" black Vulcan.. Hehe "Gwenpool" I don't think so! PASS!

Don't read her comic but I hear it's actually pretty good. And getting good ratings from critics.

Whatever happened to him and teen girl Ghost Rider? Its like we just got the one new and hip millennial Ghost Rider and 9 months later we get a newer and hip-er millenial Ghost Rider. And then they...what? Both get cancelled? Depowered?

He will probably return, since he's the Ghost Rider chosen to appear in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Reyes is cool. It strikes me odd that with him appearing on AOS, there's no sign of any Ghost Riders in the NOW lineup.

Huh. I had no idea Silver Hawks was Marvel. Used to watch that show when I was a kid.

Joseph Danvers...not a fan but ya know he's Carol's Dad.

No idea about the Silver Hawks or Carols Dad.

I know Robbie Reyes from the Ghost Rider Battleworld books but that's about it.

Every time I jump into Thor, he's never present. When i was reading his 80s run, Thor had already been separated from Blake and was working as a construction worker with future Thunderstrike. When I got back into Thor years later, he never appeared. Then I learned at some point he died.

I get a serious Bruce Banner to Hulk vibe from frail Donald Blake. I'm not invested in Thor needing a secret identity or alter ego. Thor is Thor.

Even when I read highlights of the pre-Walter Simonson era, I couldn't care less about Donald Blake.

I never understood the need for Donald Blake. I get the idea that Thor was supposed to learn to be humble or kind or whatever it was but after that I'm surprised they didn't just have him go poof when it wasn't needed anymore.

They ever have a issue where Blake and Thor talked? I have a feeling that they'd have an interesting conversation if they were allowed to talk like people instead of comic characters.

The weird thing is Thor was humble during Lee & Kirby's early run, I questioned the need to teach Thor humility.
But then comics, retcons are bound to happen.
