If there is one movie that was a pittiful creation that came from a dc character it is john irons as steel played by a goofy and unrealistic basketball player in a terrible, rediculous portrayal of a good character that needs a complete remake. The movie that came out played by shaq was a boring, tasteless, piece of crap film that used tasteless jokes and a suit that looks like it was made from garbage with no look to the real design.

I think a new and improved Steel movie with great effects, great actor not well known and strong, a cool looking cybor steel suit with cape and flight ability against a very tough villain would be awsome and start the film where he is a steel worker on a construction site and saved by superman as a cameo appearance sets him to design the armor to help the city as Steel.

If you have ideas, casting thoughts, pics and manips of a cool version to see in theatres or anything post here.

if they do another live action version though, Peter Mensah would be a great fit. I don't think JHI has to be a giant. Plus, you can pull off a much more realistic suit with today's technology.

^ Yes, he is, he was just in Action Comics (the New 52 version of him, anyway).

Steel belongs in a Superman movie, not a solo film. Not until Supergirl gets a decent solo movie.

I'm all in favor of of a new Steel movie, just as long as they cast the right actor & have a proper script.

They also MUST, in my opinion, connect him to Superman and not have him be an unrelated character again. They don't have to show Superman, or give him a cameo, but just mention his connection to Superman.
I don't want to see another movie like Steel or Catwoman where the character seems to have no connection to the comic they came from.

no, they already made an iron man film. keep him in a superman film.

Terry Crews is Luke Cage......

And the real shame is that Steel even had a movie made before Wonder Woman, Flash, GL, or even Hawkman......

More emphasis on how DC/WB just sits in a little clueless bubble on how to approach their films, they are sitting on so many great franchises, and their mentality of everything is so special and has to be separate and isolated in it's own little universe has closed them off to so much potential

Long before Iron-Man they should have been working on a Steel Reboot, and John Henry Irons should have had or should have a cameo set up in either Returns or Man of Steel... Yet WB completely blind to the idea and potential.

Instead of putting their effort into making this...

For the amount that an effects-heavy superhero film like Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, or Hawkman would have cost to make (based on the other big superhero film that year, Batman & Robin) was 7 times the budget of Steel. Even Spawn was over double the budget.

Yeah. They're bonkers missing out on that Vixen train.

You missed the point, if they were totally going to reinvent the Catwoman character, they may as well have done a Vixen movie. They just pretended it was Catwoman.

But people know who Catwoman is. That's why they reworked the completely unrelated script into a Catwoman movie. Had it been good, it would have made a lot of money based on name recognition.

I knew it wasn't Selina Kyle, that's why I didn't go see it :hehe:

80 million bucks worth of people suffered with breakdowns and suicide after seeing it...it's a cruel world when Hollywood is involved! :awesome:

oH PLEEEEZ, spare me that lame excuse!! Special EFX costs??? Really??Marvel is dropping a movie with SIX special EFX heroes and monsters and villains!!!

And you're concerned about one DC hero in one movie???

DC has run out of excuses....They are incompetent over there.

They should go home if they aint gonna go hard!

Why do you bother with DC/WB? You have a problem with everything. I wasn't giving you an excuse as to why DC hadn't made the movies. I was telling you why a 16 million dollar movie that happened to be based on a comic book had a much easier road to the screen than the 100+million dollar tentpole movies that they don't need to take a risk on.

Pretty much the same thing with Lobo getting a movie before Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and EVEN Hawkman right now. It's a low-budget movie they had sitting on the shelf that somebody with an idea for it wanted to get made. It just happens to be based on a DC comic and riles people up, when if they had greenlit the exact same concept, without saying it was Lobo/DC nobody would bat an eyelash.

Also, Avengers is coming 15 years and a whole superhero movie craze later than the year we're talking about. It's also from the company that ONLY makes superhero tentpoles and still costs only slightly above the average cost of a superhero tentpole. So the four heroes thing doesn't really mean much when it comes to budget, the action is just divided up between the four instead of all of it coming from one. Like X-Men or Fantastic Four.
