Poor Carrie! She looks the part!

Carrie looks so hurt. Those poor kids have no idea what's coming to them...

Moretz is an insanely good child actor. Yeah, I gotta say child since she ain't quite legal yet.

jeez, yet ANOTHER Carrie film?!?... if this one happens, how many would that be now, three or four?

I just don't see why the first picture released of Carrie HAD to be the single most icnonic image from the film. I mean, studios can't leave any surprises for us anymore. That image should've MAYBE been the money shot at the end of the teaser/trailer, but instead it's already imprinted in our brains way before the release. Awesome!

doesnt look different. look like a normal hollywood remake.

Well, really, how different would you expect a girl covered in blood to look? :o

of course its possible. they could have only her head with blood and everything else clean. they could make her hair different. they could do a lot of things different in those two pics.

I'm open, but I'm with Devin Faraci. CGM might be too cute for the role. Sissy Spacek and Angela Bettis are attractive women, but they are not conventionally attractive women. They are bizarre, alien presences on screen. I buy them as being social outcasts. Chloe is a great, great young actress, but I'm already having trouble with her in the role of the weirdo. This is one of those cases where how she looks is integral for the role.

I'm not writing it off. I get why they'd want her for the role. There's just some slight pause.

But they didn't eyedrop a few daps of blood on her. They dumped a full bucket of pig's blood right on top of her head. And this is straight from the book, not just the movies you're insisting they're copying.

I think you're trying way to hard to find something to complain about.

I agree. Definitely sounds like some are reaching. Just give this a chance, could be really good.

Carrie is not an obscure movie based on obscure source material. I don't see the point in hiding what surely is the most iconic image which we all know is coming. That seems a little like hiding that King Kong is a giant ape that will have a showdown atop the Empire State Building.

It's an interesting, striking image that instantly tells us that this is Carrie. There's probably no other image for the film that has that same power. Of course it's part of the marketing. It was part of the marketing for the original film.

But, as far as looks go, advantage Sissy Spacek. She could look both like a regular person and something alien. That was perfect casting.

Moretz is cute, but she's always given off that kind of weird girl vibe that Ricci and Fanning kind of do, in part of their acting talent at such a young age. She's not like some model chick or something.

its a hollywood remake. its has no chance at being anything special. i am watching the movie for Moretz and her performance. and nothing else.

are remakes from the last years good?

i like remakes like Fly 86 and The Thing 82.

Yeah, there have been good remakes in the past 5-10 years. There have been bad ones too. I think people don't realize that remade movies aren't as hated as they think.

Not to mention that some of the originals aren't that great either, when not viewed through rose tinted glasses.

What are the good ones?
