I really liked it. They are capturing the feel of this great saga. Though it is an unfinished trailer with lots of green screen in it still, I like what they are doing.

I'm not familiar with the book series. The trailer didn't look interesting.

I can see how to someone who has not seen it that it looks odd/uninteresting. That will be a great challenge for the marketing team. The trailer that leaked was unfinished and an International Trailer. So I wonder what the domestic one will be like. It's going to be a hard sell. But it looks to be capturing to me the Dark Tower Series but what you have seen is just a small glimpse. If it lives up to the series it will be an incredible ride.

I'm kind of interested in the long term plan for the series. I feel like this could be a one and done entry with maybe a little cliffhanger in case it preforms really well at the BO. Personally, I think the [BLACKOUT]"whole new cycle"[/BLACKOUT] thing is a cop out and think 'The Gunslinger' would be a perfect book to adapt onto the big screen.

I would put that in spoiler tags.

I think that is brilliant. I loved the whole idea at the end how it has happened before. This gives them room to not be 100% and add new surprises especially at the end.

But there will be at least 3 movies and then they have the TV series that they are working on that will cover Wizard and Glass. May be a season or two. I don't think so with The Gunslinger. As a book, when I first read it, I thought it was a chore and not that great. But as you went along it made sense in context of how good the series was. So the restructuring of it to make the world more accessible to everyone is a much better option. Lay out some of the foundation first mixed with the Gunslinger, which is what it appears they are doing.

I didn't like it. The aesthetic choices are uninteresting. Like someone said it feels like an Underworld film.

It cannot be of course like i've pictured it in my head but i feel they got the books wrong. The setting, the mood...it feels wrong to me.

Not getting the "Underworld" feeling from this at all.

Not crazy about the trailer, tbh. It's not bad, it's just... meh.

Honestly I think that's coming more from the choice of music in the trailer more so than the actual look itself.

Yeah. The music choice is odd, imo.

Elba looks great and so does McConaughey.

Yeah the music is not the greatest for the trailer. Like I said it will be hard to market the film. But the footage itself looks good and from what I've heard on how it's structured, that and just the source material, I have high hopes with the trailer that this will hopefully take off.

It is an aight trailer.

I can't help but feel this would be an epic on HBO. After what they are doing with WestWorld, it seems like an easy choice.

Found the trailer and it doesn't look bad.

Yeah that would have been ideal. But I am actually impressed with what I've heard on how they are restructuring it, and I won't go into book spoilers, but it really does work.

However we are getting a little bit of that, who knows if it will be HBO or Netflix but The Dark Tower will have a season or 2 which was talked about a few weeks ago that will cover Wizard and Glass and Roland's background.

Any guesses on what Roland was shooting at there? A todash creature...one of the wasteland mutants...?
