Stephen King's Epic "The Dark Tower" - Part 2

Did you like anything about the film?

The Man in Black. Matthew McConaughey is the best thing about the movie. Super charismatic.

Some of the fish-out-of-water humor was good when the movie brings Roland to New York.

Heading out to see in a few... im optimistic. At this point I'll be satisfied with a generic action movie

I never read the books either, but I thought the trailer seemed interesting. They had my attention from the moment they started playing Ennio Morricone's locket theme from For a Few Dollars More hoping it would be a sci-fi/western love letter to Sergio Leone. Those are some of my favorite films. But I gather the final film here looks to be a disaster based on looking through this thread.

As much as I appreciated the Morricone reference, it would have been better if they played, "The Court of the Crimson King." Come on. That's a given.

Is the song anywhere in the movie? Because if not, how do you **** that up???

Yeah, **** this movie.

Thanks IW. If I could ask one more thing, how does the film end?

Roland kills the Walter and blows up Walter's fortress with one bullet (not kidding). Because Jake's mom and step-dad are killed by Walter, Roland takes Jake back to Mid-World to train him to be a gunslinger.

Can't say I'm surprised by the reviews but i can't help but feel a sting in my heart. In the end it's just anger at how the studio decided to handle this production.

Did not hear it in the movie.

To those who saw it - was full trailer for mother! attached? What happened in it?

This sounds like a movie that was created not by a writer, but by a studio. The fact that Elba got the role of Roland should have been a warning sign.

C'mon Grace Randolph. Rotten Tomatoes and Marvel are clearly trying to sabotage Rotten Tomatoes here so this movie bombs and they can buy back the rights for Spider-Man after Sony Pictures goes under.

John Campea saw it.
"Not as good as I had hoped, not as bad as I feared".

This makes me even more disappointed in this. I really wish this could've been good, at least for McConaughey's sake.
