The Supergirl film had the benefit of coming off the Reeve series. In this case, people are going to be wondering if it's connected to the MOS Superman or does Superman exist in the DCTVerse-if so,where is he?Or is it going to be Kara lands before Kal (the old Harry before Norman-"change for the sake of change" thing) in which case,Superman might never show.

Blegh.Just make a decent Superman / Batman show instead of trying to get cute with prequels or spin-offs to shows that don't exist.
The report doesn't say which network it'd be on, but hopefully it'd be on the CW.

It's not the preferred situation, but we got a full fledged Supergirl before Superman on Smallville.

Perhaps in this universe, Supergirl goes public before Clark does, and Clark could be working in the shadows like he did in the early days of Smallville.

This could end up being really great news for the CW.

MAYBE if Supergirl is allowed to show up in the CWverse, Robin can show up too? :hubba i hope

I've always thought that Superboy/Conner and Supergirl were great characters, but I don't know that we'll see them in the movies. If we never get to see them in the movies, then I'd love to see them introduced on tv.

There was also a rumor that Superboy and Miss Martian were going to be in a CW Young Justice spinoff, I wonder if that's happening.

If they make the show I hope she not angry all the time

If they make her young then it won't really be an issue right? Besides I think she's out of his league. :p Pun intended,.

Comic Oliver like then young too Marianne and Mia. I don’t know about TV Ollie

Add Artemis from the YJ cartoon to that team and you're off to a good start.

I hope this happens. Supergirl can support her own show if done correctly.

I think a Supergirl TV series has potential.

I'm guessing that it will basically be a young, teenage Kara being discovered by Superman and taken to his parents (Johnathan and Martha Kent, or just Martha if Johnathan has already passed away) to be introduced to life on "Earth" and all the humorous and frustrating realities of modern day life as a human teenager. So, Kara Kent (or Linda Kent or whatever her civilian name is) will go to Smallville High, try to make friends, find love and fit in without exposing her superpowers.

They could even repeat the power development arc from Smallville if they say that the stasis pod/ship/whatever that Kara was found in/freed from prevented her absorption of energy from our yellow sun. So, her continued exposure to the sun will slowly enable her to develop the full range of Kryptonian powers.

It is a bit repeditive of Smallville, but there are probably enough differences in the character to mame it interesting. And certain elements like a female lead, high school setting and heavy focus on relationship drama would be appealing to CW.

I would love a Supergirl series (or animated series, which would have fewer limitations)

Couldn't care less which universe its a part of.

This will be tricky to do without Supermans involvement if there is none

Here's an idea. What if they wanted to use Earth 2 Kara(I'm referring to this version: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Girl) who happened to be stuck in a world that doesn't have Superman or Supergirl?

This could be a way to use the whole Crisis thing the Flash show is foreshadowing.

Superman can't appear, nor can any character they have plans for in the films. So you'd have to do a Supergirl series without Superman.

You can do the matrix/Earth Angel origin, the Argo origin or something relatively new. That's not really the challenge at all. Simply have Superman never have come to Earth... since you can never use him, teasing a character you can never use would be really foolish, imo. Heck, have Krypton not be destroyed, and use the most recent Kara's evil Zor-El origin, sent to Earth Saiyan style.

The challenge is... what is Supergirl about with Superman? Without the Daily Planet or any of those people (technically Jimmy Olsen is still available)? What happens when Supergirl is the Superman, basically? That's kinda huge. It also kinda goes against the idea of making her a teenaged sidekick, since there's no one for her to sidekick to. If she's the star of her own show, then she's not looking up to someone, she is the hero. She might as well be a college aged young adult, doing Superman-type stuff, fighting off alien invaders because she's fallen for planet Earth.

If it's on the CW, make the love triangle with Jimmy Olsen and, I dunno, Snapper Carr or somebody.

Damn DC editorial they passed on it ..:csad::csad:

I have to chuckle at certain articles crediting him with working on Gotham, as if to imply he's working on the Batman-based series. It was a pilot he wrote a few years ago about a magical version of New York City that didn't get picked up.
