Superman has lots of good villains to choose from. I want War World. So give me Mongol.
Yeah Bautista reuniting with Gunn is too good to pass up.

Plus we haven’t seen Superman go off world in live action yet. I think it would be really cool and differenr

Mongol can be big bad in a Justice League movie as well. I think the masses want Brianiac and more of the Daily Bugle crew in a Superman sequel.

I’m glad you said that because I have a fun idea.

I don’t think any of us want to see a Death of Superman story anytime soon so what if while Supes is on Warworld we see the reign of the Superman storyline? I’m dying to see Steel in live action and it’s kind of fun to see three superheroes helping in metropolis plus its world building

Reign of Supermen would be fun but I just don’t think Gunn would go there yet. He finally has a well received Superman on the big screen if anything Superman would be a big part of that movie.

We just got introduced to so many good characters on Earth, I wouldn’t love to see Superman fly off to War World in the sequel (unless it’s a limited portion of the story).

Brainy will always get my vote and I could see some of the threads from this film leading to him and/or the Eradicator (another antagonist/ally I would love to see). I also voted for Metallo and Parasite because they are both interesting visually and wouldn’t just be another case of “villains with the same powers as the hero.”

I would also love Bizarro and I think we will get him eventually, but it would be great to see him as more of an ally who (unfortunately) does more harm than good.

Mxyzptlk has never been one of my favorites but he would work really well in this multidimensional DCU and I’m sure Gunn could make him a lot of fun.

I’m not much of a Mongol fan but I agree with others who said that he would be the perfect character for Bautista.

I’d rather never see Zod in a Superman film again. Maybe if he’s For Tomorrow Zod. That was the only version of the character I actually found compelling other than Terrance Stamp.

Same with Doomsday. Don’t bring him back. I like Doomsday but I feel like we don’t need to rehash Superman’s death. Although, if we do get the Death of Superman at some point, Gunn had BETTER give me Hoult delivering a variation of Lex’s “I win” speech over Superman’s body. That would make it all worth it.

Henshaw isn’t really that interesting until he’s Cyborg Superman and if you’re going to do that, then just use Metallo instead.

Toyman would be a hard one to make work. I think he’d be better in a Suicide Squad or Argus movie or show.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a comic with Ultra-Humanite so I can’t say whether he would be a good one. But I think after so many Planet of the Apes movies, various Kong movies, Rampage and Rise of the Beasts, I’m kind of over mutant apes.

It’ll be interesting to see where Brainiac pops up first, justice league or Superman 2? I suppose he doesn’t quite fit the theme gods and monsters as much as other characters might

Gunn is gonna do what he wants.
I'm sure the whole plan is already meticulously layed out, and that may, or may not, include brainiac or mongul..
It'd be a damn shame if Brainiac is still skipped with the majority wanting him.

To me you can’t label the first chapter Gods and Monsters without the ultimate God/Monster Darksied. I can live without him fighting Superman or even being a Justice League “Big Bad” I just want him somewhere in the story. Influencing Kara or something. I just would like him to be a shadow somewhere with Intergang or Godfried. I want Darksied done right, manipulation is always the underrated part of his powers.

Brainiac is the only correct answer in my book. He's arguably Superman's biggest villain after Lex and he's way overdue to appear in a film.

My only concern with Brainiac is that he might feel “too” big of a threat for a second film (if a trilogy is planned), but on second thought, never mind. Brainiac would feel epic and completely different from what Lex tried to do in this film. And then Lex can come back for the finale with a full Legion of Doom.

Brainiac creates Metrobook a Metropolis website using LuthorCorp technology to siphon the world's data and then creates a body to confront Superman.

With Gunn being vague about the sequel plans/suggesting it’s not quite just a Superman 2, I’m really feeling like we might be in for a Superman/Supergirl Kryptonian deep-dive with Brainiac coming along to **** their **** up.

If the DCEU has taught my anything, it’s never assume you’ll get a third film.

I love the idea of a World’s Finest film at some point, but I don’t believe for a second that’ll be what’s next.

In addition to other concerns (too much discussion of Brave and the Bold for me to think we’ll first be seeing Batman in a team-up; following up Superman with that team-up feels a little too similar in circumstance to BVS), splitting a sequel between Superman and Batman means you’ll be getting only 50% of a Superman movie. At least if it’s Superman and Supergirl headlining together, that’s 100% Super-Family.

Only other thing I can think it could be is Superman vs The Authority.

BvS killed any excitement I had for a World's Finest for a while. At least until we know who is Batman.

I'd be there for it if that is the plan.

Honestly I keep waiting for word that The Authority will be a series on HBO. That just makes so much more sense than going the film route.

I’m mad as hell that BVS is the first taste we got of that pairing on the big screen together, but it only made me hungrier to see it actually done right. It just needs to be under the right circumstances.

Gunn's comments re: what constitutes a sequel could simply be a hint at Peacemaker, Supergirl or the mooted Jimmy Olsen/Mr Terrific projects.

Brainiac - Mike Faist
Mongul - Tom Burke
A rat boy Brainiac?

In all seriousness though please choose an interesting actor for Brainiac. Don’t just phone it in and get Benedict Cumberbatch or whatever.

Yeah it is so weird we haven’t seen him yet

Side note, I finally saw Drop last night and so I saw something with that Brandon Skelnar dude that people were championing for Batman. I can definitely see him as a superhero character; he’s got the good looks and a deep voice. Not sure if I see Batman in him though and I’m never watching Yellowstone or any of the thousand spinoffs that take place in the Montana Cinematic Universe. But I suppose you could do worse than him if they are looking at unknowns. He’s probably a bit young though since it sounds like the DCU Bats will be in his 40s at least. I hope they don’t go too old with him though because we had that with Affleck and it sucked. I realize there are obviously better ways to do an older Batman but I would like the Trinity to all be in or around their prime, since Batman already had a disadvantage being that he’s the “normal” (lol I know) one.

Also, another casting pic for Brainy…

I realize that this is being shaped by the fact that I’ve been watching Murderbot but if there was any truth to those Alexander Skarsgard/Lex casting rumors we got way back when, maybe Gunn would look at Alex for Brainiac. He can definitely play the cold, analytical robot. Shave his head and he’s got the perfect look. Or hell, let him keep some of the blond hair and give him the look of the 90s Brainiac or Brainiac 5.

I could also see him as Batman but I’m still hoping for Will Poulter there (though again, I’m guessing the actor they pick will be older so Alex could work for that).
