I'm a 35yo woman from Central America who started reading comic books (all Superman related) after becoming obsessed with the Superman teaser back in December with all those Clois moments...I felt that amazing chemistry (I clicked on it shortly after its premiere on youtube after pulling an all-nighter playing Sims 4 and got so hyped I couldn't sleep until later that night. Yes, I watched a million reaction videos, which is something I'd never done before). Superman 2025 also made me go back to a movie theatre since 2019 (It: Chapter Two).

I've never been a fan of superheroe media but I'll always have a special appreciation for Superman (especially Clark Kent ) because back in the 90s my mom and I used to watch the Lois & Clark tv series (even though I barely remember it) and it was my introduction to the concept of the superhero.

And I know I'll keep reading Superman comics (it also helps that like 98% of them have made me cry. My Top 3 so far:
1. Superman for all Seasons
2. Superman: Up in the Sky
3. Superman: Secret Identity (this one made me ugly cry).

So cool that the film helped you discover some great comics! If you haven’t checked out Superman Birthright yet, you should put it on your list. It’s the best Superman origin story. Secret Origin is great too but Birthright is the GOAT.

The movie inspired me to pick comics back up too after a hiatus that lasted decades. Since seeing Superman, I’ve read Secret Origin, Brainiac, Superman Man of Steel and Superman for All Seasons too. Starting Supergirl Woman of Tomorrow next!

I know my co-worker just borrowed his first ever Supes comic from me yesterday because he loved the movie so much. Guy’s been a fan of DC media his whole life but was never motivated to seek out any comics until now. And yes, I started him on Birthright.

I know for a fact that Batman Begins had a similar effect on people. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man , too.

yea not gonna lie, i been looking up collected editions of superman comics to check out after watching the movie.

The Superman Adventures Compendium One looks like the big one on the my radar right now.

also trying to look for some collected volumes of mr. terrific stories.

Kingdom Come is another one to go back to as well. Some things in that story haven’t aged well but but that artwork. It’s absolutely Alex Ross’s masterpiece.

Also, Superman For All Seasons, All-Star Superman (obviously), Up in the Sky, What's So Funny About Truth, Justice and the American Way? (which is one of my favorite single issues) .

Kryptonite by Darwyn Cooke and Tim Sale is an underrated one, IMO.

Have they collected the Jeph Loeb, Joe Kelly era stories yet?

I already read Secret Origin and Birthright (that ending made me cry). I still have a long list (Smashes the Klan, Red & Blue, Brainiac) Supergirl WoT is also next on my list after Superman: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?

It was actually Superman Returns that got me into reading Supes' comics and made me a bigger fan of the character. So movies definitely can have that influence. I have not read any Supes stuff for a while but read most of not all of the essentials, among others.

I did like some of the darker Superman stories also like For Tomorrow which I highly recommend. Wrath of Gog and Sacrifice and Camelot Falls. Some Busiek stuff was quite dark also for Superman. I think that's why I liked the Snyder movies. But I love the new movie also.

This is a great comic to pick up for someone itching to get a Superman comic after seeing the movie. Dan Jurgens delivers! It's a super over-sized comic, though. (I got the Corenswet cover.)
