I hope they ain't about to try and convince us Tyler's Supes and Cryer's Lex are remotely close in age, lol!

(and yes, I know Tyler's Supes is supposed to be older than he looks, but he's not in his 40's, let alone 50's)

Clark should be around 38-39. They haven't given Lex's age, but Cryer's 54, and I'd say he can pull off mid-40's at the youngest.

The kids they're looking for are the same age, according to the casting notices.

Out of curiosity, I had a look on Arrowverse Wiki. According to it, Superman is 40. (Born in 1979; he would have been 36 at the start of Supergirl.) And the math on this seems to work out.

(But since my recollection of episodes is very short-term, this is useless to me. ) In the “trivia” section, however, some detail is spelled out: in “American Dreamer”… Lena had already been adopted when Lex was 13, thus, placing his birth year as 1984 at the earliest, making him around 9 years older than Lena and at least 5 years younger than Superman.

Now I assume the above chronology (if it’s accurate) was introduced before Cryer was cast. Therefore, it seems like some sort of retcon is in order. The question is whether his age will be goosed up to 40 (same as Superman) or older.

So yes, some retconning is certainly in order, as long as it doesn’t try to convince me that Tyler’s Supes and Cryer’s Lex are the same age. I can suspend a lot of disbelief for these shows, but even I have my limits.

Didn’t Lillian say something to Lex about how the cancer had aged him? Although I guess that doesn’t explain why he looks as old in the flashbacks we’ve gotten of him haha

Maybe we can attribute what Superman said about Kryptonians ageing at a much slower rate on Earth, so maybe we can say that’s why Supes looks a lot better than Lex does at the same age haha

I really can’t buy McGrath playing a 26 year old though. She looks exactly like her age...mid 30s....which isn’t a bad thing. Benoist, however, has a young face so she can definitely get away with playing mid 20s
