Superman Reboot Writers Workshop

would you mind/be upset if the sequel didn't follow SR storyline? ie: Lois Lane wasn't a mother or the kid had never exist.

if they are releasing in the next 2 and a bit years, then yeah...

retconning is a lazy way about things...

I would not be upset if the story didn't follow the SR storyline of Lois being a mommy and the kid never existing. However sadly, I don't think that will happen. I think nothing short of a retcon will change that, and I really don't see Singer doing that.

Not only would I not mind, but I think it might be necessary to save the franchise...

However, that would mean WB and Singer admitting they made a mistake and that just won't happen.

Personally I think abandoning the idiotic storyline of SR would be the best thing for them to do.

It's the only way to go... abandon away. Just like Superman abandonned Lois....

I would be very happy if they abandoned the SR storyline and started over!

Its really the only option WB has if they are interested at revivng the franchise in 10 years or so.

If WB were to greenlight a Singer sequel with the same writers it would be a giveaway they don't care about/believe in the franchiise as it would show no seriouss effort to fix things. To go with D&H again is basically, IMO, WB just throwing their hands up at it all.

Yep. I completely agree with you. The writing team for Singer was basically a couple of "yes" men who just wrote the story Singer wanted to pacify his fragile ego.

Singer needs some good writers, who can bring a film on-screen that is going to be reflective of what a great superhero encompasses. Not a soulless flat soap opera that's boring and very lackluster. Not too mention introduces a horrible element by giving Superman "Superson". That really backs any writing team into a corner, because every successive film is going to have to deal with that element.

Not every...I guarantee that whever Singer is replaced, whether it be the 2 or 10th film...the next crew will kill that kid or forget he ever existed.

a little Mr Mxyzptlk twist could take care of a lot of the problems SR had while moving forward.

exactly what i wanna say.

btw, i purposely didn't put up the option of "depending on the new storyline" to test if the people are more afraid of unknown or the idiotic storyline introduced by singer.

and making Lois Lane a total b.i.t.c.h.

The fact that WB is apparently letting Singer use these same writers for the treatment he is coming up with is scary because it basically says WB does not care and has given up on the franchise. To the extent that is true they just need to step up to the plate, say no and end the franchise now.

The only thing it proves is they trust the actual team.

I wouldn't be... I'd find it an improvement over what we first saw.

i just now have an image in my head. WB bosses are crying and are desperate because tehy can not get rid of singer.

are you serious dude? noone is desperate. WB is working very quick. if they dont like singer in 30 seconds he gets fired. its that simple. you think they are scared to tell him that htey dont like hes vision?

dude heheh you are very funny.

All they have to do is send the kid to boarding school and i'll be fine,i don't want them to just ignore the things from the first movie

Absolutely true. Only Singer will continue with the kid. If he does not get a sequel then I can da** well guarantee you that 15 or so years from now when WB tries a re-start they will make sure to make clear it is not at all any kind of sequel - vague or not - to SR. As with the Hulk restart a future Superman film team will do everything to distance themselves from SR.

i don't know but i have a feeling that Singer was done. :P

We'll have to wait and see. I mean Tim Burton was once hired to make a supes movie with Nic Cage, then Ratner with Anthony Hopkins as Jor-El, then McG, then Ratner again, then finally singer got the job. Even though he's made returns doesnt mean he'll make the sequel (X3 anybody?) Anything can happen in Hollywood, so i'll wait til the cameras are rolling before i say anything about the sequel.
