Superman Reboot Writers Workshop

How would you do that logically?
No more homages. You can keep the Williams score and FOS styles while the rest is brand new, esspecially the villian (I hope it is Brainiac). Singer and Routh mentioned that back in Summer 06 so it would make sense keep that route.

Well Singer started that homage crap (lack of an original thought), as for John Williams score it is worth keeping. Routh left much to be desired from SUPERMAN.
I’m sorry watching him portray CK & SUPES was like watching a SUPERNERD film, he played both parts the same. Bumbling Stumbling Clark Kent and a Bumbling Stumbling SUPERMAN. WTF? :cmad:

Singer’s vision suck a$$, casting Welling in SR would have made me very happy nevertheless, the film would have still SUCK.!!

SR killed my enthusiasm for a Superman film and Smallville the TV series.
I am over my depression of the direction that Warner Brothers decided to take.
SR’s FAILURE brought me much joy, most forum members whom disapproved of said film, were correct in their logic that the WB were making a mistake reusing STM story-arch. Very happy that THE WB recoup the money spent on “SUPERVAPORMAN” over the years, thanks too SR no less.
Now I’m prepared and ready to “GO FORWARD” with an ALL NEW SUPERMAN film with NO Routh or Welling.

WHAT DO YOU KNOW?!!
The WB may release a film called: JUSTICE LEAGUE with Welling as the lead. SWEET!!!!! :wow: :woot:

I know all you BRANDON ROUTH fans are praying (even if you are a non-believer) that IESB.net news is in fact a rumor.[YT]_Uc1vIjNoWk[/YT]
You know what is so good about this poll? The vast majority are actually sane individuals. Because they didn't vote for the stupid JLA movie to be made. It either went "reboot" or "sequel." I feel sorry for the two (as of this writing) that actually voted for a JLA film. Mainly because they just don't know any better...but also because a JLA movie is such a horrendously stupid and crappy idea...and this poll says so.

Real Superman’s fans are sane; I wanted a "reboot" when SR’s direction was announced on these boards back in the preproduction stage of said film.
I dislike the casting choice from day one, I have always felt that the WB’s little TV show character and Star should ascend too the Silver screen when the time came for him to fulfill his DESTINY.

JLA would make an outstanding film, with the right creative team on board like Team Bruce Timm penning the storyboard/script.

Yeah, a JLA movie shoud be done 6 years from now. But DC and WB should really put out atleast 2 movies a year. Endless possibilities with a GL, Flash, Nightwing, Green Arrow, and even a Wonder Woman film.
Bingo. I've said it before and I'll beat this horse to death and then revive it again: YOU DO NOT PULL OUT YOUR TRUMP CARD THIS EARLY IN THE GAME. Warner would be beyond ******ed if they did. JLA is used to cap off established franchises and be something special. There are so many avenues that Warner hasn't explored yet in terms of the veritable goldmine that is DC Comics that it's downright revolting.

I don't agree with 90% of what you said. I HATE Smallville and have wished for it's cancellation since about the second season. Each passing season makes my hate grow deeper (with a few exceptions in some episodes I thought were redeemable). Welling belongs nowhere near a big screen...especially where Superman is concerned. I'm just on the opposite side of the coin as you and many others like Pat, I guess. No matter how cute Welling is, he just ain't Super to me and will never be. I suppose I'm the yang to your yin in that department, but each to his/her own.

I partially agree on Timm being involved, but only as a partial writer. I have yet to see anything remotely revolving around complex character depth within the Timm/Diniverse. Not saying I don't mark out for JLU or STAS or even BTS, but I still would be wary of Timm's involvement as a writer on a film this big. Who knows, though? Maybe he can write characters that have depth, but since he's been conjoined to the animated realm, he's never had the opportunity, so for me it could go either way on the Timm front.

Get some action in the film, and get rid of the sobby boring soap opera crap...Get Tom Welling as well, Routh has no presense...And get rid of Luthor allready - there is no way that the Superman movies can be different if they are constantly using Luthor...

Returns 2 without Lex, fine that will work.
A Welling film without Lex is unacceptable.
I would agree Lex presence should be diminished for the first film.

I believe Timm’s Justice League vision would translate very well to film.
Hell! The series were mini movies on their own.
The WB should reward him with that opportunity.

what do I want...

a reboot with a brighter story, brighter suit, more humor, more action, more live action flying rather than CGI flying, an iconic villain, iconic cinematography, and make it feel like a comic book.

What you just said should be a requisite for any Superman movie.

I still can't understand how so many directors just don't get it with these types of films...

who knows... maybe their own egos are too big for them to make a comic book movie look like a comic book... the most promising one in the future to me is Iron Man.

Are you a Clex 'shipper? :D

Yes SIR! :cwink:

 What I don’t get is why directors cannot view comics as storyboards.
Hell! storyboards are comic strips to help them to visualize the scenes.
Comic books are instant movies, just add water for crying out loud. :cmad:

Welling (The Dragon) = Yīn is the dark element: it is active, dark, masculine, upward-seeking, and corresponds to the night.
_ _ _ _ _ (The Tiger) = Yáng is the bright element: it is passive, light, feminine, downward-seeking and corresponds to the daytime.

With current news floating around I love the sounds of MOS. Otherwise I would go for a reboot if it TOTALLY restarts Superman. As for JL- it needs Martian Manhunter!

Holy crap...there is actually a third vote for a JLA movie.

I'm speechless...

...sike.

Reboot is the worst thing that could happen to the franchise right now. Anyone that thinks that a reboot is a good idea is just a hater and won't like any Superman movie no matter how good it is.

I want to see a sequel with Singer at the helm.

heh, in the recent issue of wizard magazine, theres an article talking about JLA...and they have a fan poll asking who they would want to direct the film. the majority of the vote wanted bryan singer, even beating out nolan, ha ha.

Heh Heh. Really?

Well he did well with an X-Men ensemble cast.

from wizard

of the following, who should direct the JLA film:
bryan singer: 28%
chris nolan: 22%
james cameron: 15%
michael bay: 19%
zach snyder: 12%
brett ratner: 4%

That's wizard's chess.

Oops wrong film and quote. :oldrazz:

Bryan Singer to direct JLA? LOL

Will him give a son to every character of DC and make the movie the challenge of the superbursery?

Meh, that poll isn't fair. Bay and Cameron are the only real directors on there suited for JLA. I'm suprised Cameron is losing. Fanboys still bitter over the Spider-Man script? A Cameron directed JLA would be the most amazing movie in the history of movies. Unfortunately, he only seems to do one movie every ten years...and Avatar called dibbs this time :csad:

But yeah, Wizard should try running a list of directors who would actually work for JLA instead of recent comic book movie directors (and James Cameron)
