Superman Reboot Writers Workshop

No problem. We are cool. :yay:

I already have the script completed, i am re-editing it with my writing partner. Thanks for the offer though.

I am taking alot of elements and story arcs from the comics.

From which ones? Any important stories?

I hope you included a little from the 2000 - 2003 run of Jeph Loeb, he is my favorite writer. His vision of Superman was just outstanding.

What are you alluding too from Loeb.

He always made Clark the real person, he was always the simple farm boy from Kansas, even Lois always called him "Smallville" on Loeb's run. Superman had a really close relationship with his parents, he always went there in the mornings to have breakfast with them. Lex was smarter and evil than I've ever seen before. He even won the presidency of U.S.A. He even found out Clark and Superman are the same person.

Superman was usually happy, and always looked for the bright side. Metropolis was simply gorgeous, it wasn't a bad imitation of New York it was its own. The Brainiac 13 story was also really good, too.

*Clark is portrayed as the real person in our script.
*Lex and the presidency is definately part of this storyline.
*Clark has a relationship with BOTH of his parents in the script.
*Lois does not call Clark Smallville, I never liked that.

Looks interesting.

How about more recent stories? Any of those?

We have picked our way through Superman history, everything from Birthright to All Star Superman and have selected elements and arcs that fit with the story we are trying to tell while making sure our fingers were on the pulse of what the fans want along with providing something that would be emotional and also action packed. We'll see, we are editing.

But I suppose most of it is close to the Byrne run, to date? After the Crysis in 1986.

Forgive me if someones already come up with this type of story!
If like me you were a tad dissappointed with SUPERMAN RETURNS and the direction they have taken the franchise in (i.e seemingly backing themselves into a creative corner with the super-kid and all) and the fact they decided to cut the whole return to krypton scene (which they shot AND finished!) read on:

My SUPERMAN RETURNS sequal synopsis:

Firstly, the title would be just "THE MAN OF STEEL",this is also in tune with the Batman Begins sequal being called The Dark Knight.

The way I think they should handle the movie, that would please fans the most is that Braniac could have been the one to send signals of Krypton to Earth (seeing as how they never used the fact that LEx was originally supposed to have fabricated the whole thing) and Superman could have brought the core of Brainiac back with him from Krypton without realizing.

Its a great way to use the Return to Krypton sequence in the sequel

Braniac could surface from the buried ship (at the Kent farm),and go on a mission to destroy and assimilate superman in his all powerful body of last Kryptonian, then learning about Jason,he could focus on him instead-as a much easier/weaker target.

Richard could die protecting Jason from Braniac (nothing against the character,it would just fit, both dramatically and to progress the story),superman could then decide to use the fortress chamber to de-power Jason, turning him fully human to protect him and give him a more normal life (no more SUPERKID) .

Superman then needs to kick the hell out of Braniac in a super-fight scene (come on,who doesnt wanna see supes fight "neo and agent smith in matrix revolutions" style...without the kung-fu obviously)

Well,thats my ideas anyway...

well you can make a seqel to SR and correct some bad stuff that fans didnt like and make milions.
it is possible. and i still think that JL is a bigger risk for the DC heroes.

We are excited about the changes we are making too it. Working title so far is...

Superman: Justice For All

Sounds interesting. One question, would it be in the same continuity as the Donner films and "Superman Returns"?

Not the same coninuity as either of them. It's not an origin story either, although the beginning features some VO from Lara and Jor-El based on the Donner movie. In our take it's Ma & Pa Kent that provide Superman's influences and who he goes to for advice.

ok this is my take on Jor-el and Lara sending off Kal-el from Krypton for a reboot. Im not gettin all into detail but u know.

First i never did like the fact that Krypton was an all ice planet, i think that Krypton should be the ultimate paradise if u will so we feel sorry for them having to send there son elsewhere thats not as perfect as there planet. BUT heres the twist, i would do it so that Jor-el was never planning on sending supes to Earth but to another planet where he would fit in better. After countless tries of getting the ship to leave the planet safely it never works kinda like Birthright. Ok so when the times comes he puts the baby in the ship and wat not and hits the launch button.....well a peice of debree falls and hits the control panel knocking the coordinace off of the the planet Jor-el had set and into jus deep space meaning that the ship could could jus go anywhere. I wanted the audience to feel the loss off the baby when its launched into space and the parents never knowing if there baby made it to any planet at all, and them knowing that hes jus outin deep space. Also i had this cool shot in my head that when one of the quakes hit and the debree falls on the control panel it also knocks Lara down, and she looks up and she can see the rocket fading in the distance as shes reaching up to the sky. Jor-el pulls her up and shes crying histericly cause now Kal-el is jus out in space somwhere, and Jor-el wipes her tears and they say some idk parent talk i guess lol and right before the planet blows up it gets dead quite and Jor-el whispers "Kal-el" really softly and then cut to a shot of Kal-el in the ship and he opens his eyes really quick as if he heard his father. Somthin along those lines, i might type in script format later so yall can get the vibe im goin for.
