Here’s another six figure deal that just went down! BloodyDisgusting reports Sony’s Columbia Pictures dropped some sweaty cash for an original spec script from actor/writers Christopher Allen Nelson and Mitch Rouse, for their horror-action Supermax.
Supermax takes place in a Maximum Security Prison for the Super-Natural as a skilled guard must join forces with a lethal inmate after a riot ensues in order to fight his way through various monsters and mad-men in order to survive.
You had me at prison for the super-natural. That’s a great world for anyone to play in! Think of the possibilities

Damn. That sounds exactly like the Green Arrow one just replace the supervillain with the supernatural and make it a buddy pic.

It totally does, if that happens i doubt the supermax/green arrow film will go down. They would probably go with a different idea for GA.

Wow. Who stole from who?

Hmmm, I like this personally. Hopefully it forces WB to go with their origin plan for GA (if they ever make a film) rather than their Supermax; I never liked the idea to begin with.

Sounds like it could be a pretty fun/cool film.

I notice people are bringing up Green Arrow. I've heard a little about that idea for the Green Arrow film being in a prison, I just don't know much about that character. Was that a major story/origin for the character in the comics or just an idea that fans think would be cool?

I'd prefer this one to be made then the Green Arrow version, written by the same guy who wrote the Legend of Chun Li.

Green Arrow Super-max would've been a kickass original superhero flick but scrap it and let these guys get their movie made. Now that DC Entertainment is formed, let Ollie get his own movie.

I really don't want to see an Ollie origin story because it's not that compelling. What makes Ollie neat is that he's actively political and a cynical son of a gun. There must be a way to make a Green Arrow pic without relying on an origin. That's why I think Supermax (Green Arrow) would be perfect for the character. It just needs a major rewrite.

So we have another Supermax project not to care much about. Yayyy.

I really like this idea...much better than a Green Arrow story. A normal guard and a super villain teaming up to survive....awesome.
