I'm a fan of the books and I gotta say the show is just butchery. Like last week they introduce Richard's sister (who shows up in the 6th book) and they say they have the same mother while in the books it's the same father. Doesnt sound like a big deal but it actually is when you learn who their real parentage is. I watch it if it's on but I don't go out of my way to see it because it just pisses me off
You'll have a long time to wait then. I never understood the concept of waiting to read a book. Sure they are large some of them but a book a week is no big commitment. I would assume have have considering your avatar is the Mother Confessor.
That's the funny thing with books. There's all this dialogue in them.
Frankly, I have no problem with it. If they gotta talk then they gotta talk. From the sound of it a John Le Carre novel would drive you crazy.
My curiousity got the better of me a week ago so I checked Wiki for info about the books and learned who his father was. Man, they butchered that plot point in pre-production. They must be attempting a different "Rome-like" relationship if you know what I mean. Leaving his father for a another character.
Maybe reading it after watching the series will make you immune to disappiointment, Lobo? You don't have to wait.
What are you talking about? They've already hinted that dude is still his father. Remember how his mother was reluctant to reveal who it was?
How did they butcher it? Are you one of them slow folk?
Ah-Yuck-Yuck. I guessome so, sir!?
Look at the age of the actor in comparison to the Seeker. What was he like 12 when it happened?
Dude's the most powerful magic user in the realm. I'm guessin' he whipped up something to slow or prevent his aging.

Well they do have the same father, not the same mother like the TV show would tell you. They also have a brother Oba who I thought would be brought in during the episode since they introduced Jenssen a full 6 books before she should show up. But who cares, they seem to be going over the series and picking random names to throw in with little care for who they actually are or their characterization (like Giller and Michael).
Yeah wasn't Giller a good wizard? Theres alot of things about the show that **** the books up so dont watch it if youre expecting a good adaptation.
Well in the show Richard already was captured by Denna and "trained"( if you can even call it that...it lasted a couple days of simple torture in the show, not at all like the book) Then he killed her(without turning the blade white or anything like that) and the Mord Sith brought her back to life. Plus they make it in the show so that anyone can get the power of order, they just have to put the boxes together! And then Richard gets it! Thats hilariously terrible.
