Just caught up with this series. Surprisingly good. I've got two more episodes to watch before I've caught up completely.

I haven't watched it for a month or two... it just seems like they're making it up as they go along. I happened to catch a few minutes this past weekend, and Nicci had taken Richard already and was chatting it up with Darken Rahl. They're trying to do Faith of the Fallen already, without Jagang... has the Order even been mentioned?

The latest I heard is that it would get renewed for a 3rd season, so I hope it works out.

Does anyone else think the second season has not been as tightly focused as the first? The first really seemed to have a solid plan with well paced character arcs and stuff. The second feels a bit less effective to me. Not bad, just not quite as good as the first to me.

I wonder if they'll portray Jagang right. I've always imagined him personality-wise similiar to Bill the Butcher... the both have that same underlying sense of unpredictable violence.

They stretched this Stone of Tears out too long, imo. They lost the urgency of closing the veil they spouted in the beginning of the season.

^ Zedd found the stone right in the beginning of the book. I thought it was stupid they had to look for it, but I didn't think it'd last this long.

Yeah, I feel the same. Nicci comments that it's no wonder Richard hasn't found the Stone of Tears yet if he keeps stopping to help everyone, but rather than thinking she was b****y, I was like, "Yeah, she's totally right."

Also, it kind of disturbs me that Cara is still technically a Baneling. Cured and all, but still.

I will give them credit for not extending the Richard pines for Kahlan but can't say so trope, even though he hasn't discovered the full truth. They're basically in a sexless marriage now.

I like that they'll kiss and say "I love you" and are at least somewhat happy together. It's way more honest than the usual plot-induced sexless romance, where the characters just refuse to be around each other at all or suffer in silence until one or the other f***s somebody else or whatever.

Granted, it still boggles my mind why they don't just keep a bloody Rada'han around and let Kahlan put it on when they set up camp for the night, but I guess that'd be too easy and sensible.

I was laughing so hard when she said that.


The stone thing should have been done in 13/14 eps then the rest of the season be a slow reveal of this Jagang character everyone keeps talking about for season 3.

I haven't read any of the books, so at least I'm not constantly looking for how the show is or isn't adapting bits and pieces of them. That'd drive me crazy.

You wouldn't have to look... it barely does at all. The books are amazing, but I reckon people like the show alot more if they haven't read the books. They don't know what they're missing that way.

Then it kind of lost sight of that and it has meandered a little bit. I don't think it's bad, but I feel they lost some momentum.

Have the books ever given a reason for why Kahlan and Richard don't keep a Rada'han around?

They don't need one in the books, the whole Confessor situation was resolved at the end of the first book. Richard found a way around her power.

Ah. Well, that's nice. I figured they would've done that in the show when Kahlan confessed Richard to control the Power of Orden at the end of season 1, but then season 2 rolls along and oops! Kahlan is still Lady Can'tf***.

Richard is already completely devoted to her. So her power has no effect whats so ever.

Oh, that's a nice, simple solution. Makes sense with how the Confessor's powers have been defined so far, too. I like it.

I completely agree. By now there should be an uncontrollable amount of bailings running amuck.

Still love this show though.

It's weird that the best episodes are the ones when they actually get "on story" but then they jump off and do like 3 episodes in a row that have nothing to do with it.

I haven't read the book and it seems by your sentence that Cara get back her humanity in them. Can you explain me how she does that ?

its a process....Richard essentially builds her back in to being an actual person over the course of the books
